We decided to eat here following the excellent reviews we had read on this site and also as we were staying in the hotel it was convenient. We previewed the menu and were impressed, there were some delicious sounding dishes. We had a pleasant welcome when we arrived and were shown to a window table with superb views
There were several menu options, the cheapest a three course at 35$ with a limited choice, also an a la carte option, but we chose the table d'hôte at 50$ each which was four courses, wine pairing could be added for 25$ each but we opted for a bottle of Sauvignon, produced in Niagara, at 42$, which was light, but good.
Our meal started with an amuse bouche which was a beef wonton and then our first dish was seared tuna with a carrot purée and salad with asparagus, grated carrot etc., the presentation was excellent and it tasted fantastic. Following this we had belly pork in the most delicious sauce, cooked perfectly, could have eaten more! Main course was a duck confit on risotto, the risotto was good but we found the duck to be over seasoned and far too salty. My wife also experienced a problem with her dish when she found what appeared to be a small piece of glass. We called the waiter and he went immediately to see the chef. The chef came out and reassured us it was actually a piece of blackened salt which had not dissolved. It was still off putting and my wife didn't finish the dish. For desert we had almond tart served with poached pear and ice cream.
Service was friendly and attentive throughout, would we go back, probably I think we were just unfortunate this time.

We appreciate you taking the time to share your experience at our restaurant but we are sorry that it left you feeling anything but completely impressed. It is good to know that you enjoyed the flavours of the tuna and pork belly dishes but we are disappointed to hear your feedback about the duck confit. It is reassuring to hear that you found the service to be friendly and attentive and we do hope that we will have the opportunity to host you at our restaurant again.

Everything is top notch. You can't get a bad meal here. The last time we were there the chef came out to make sure the bore was cooked to medium well and wasn't too tough. I guess there is a very fine line between medium well and rubber with bore. They nailed it! Well done chef and team.
You are treated like you should be in a restaurant by the entire staff. The wait staff are very attentive but never interrupt. They are like food ninjas! Food is always presented properly and if there were any issues we were taken care of. One time my wife ordered the blue tuna but didn't realize it was raw in the middle. It's a texture thing... They took it back and we ordered something elts on the menu. Not only did they not charge us for the tuna they gave us a free after diner drink. I ordered a Scotch and my wife a brandy. Top notch service!
Our favorite is to get the wine tour with the table d'hote. Of course one of us has to drive so we switch each time.
We always ask for Aqua gift certificates for Christmas. Then when ever we feel like a treat we grab them and have a great night.

One the best meals hands down bar none. Great view of Lake Ontario, attentive wait staff, if you have some money to spend then I say go for it!

After recently having a rather bad experience at a different restaurant in Kingston, it was a huge relief to go to Aqua Terra--mainly because the service is so good. Our server was attentive without being in-your-face. I really don't want to become friends with my server; I want her/his attention to be on the customers and on attentive service.

We had seats right by the window, overlooking the water. Aqua Terra is almost literally on top of the lake (Lake Ontario). Our dinner was early-ish, because of another engagement, so it was still light out. What a pleasure to watch the duck families, with hordes of tiny ducklings zipping back and forth just outside our window. We also had a view of the lakeshore and the Murney Tower.

My spouse and I chose the prix fixe menu, for which you receive an appetizer, main dish, and dessert.

I had a pickerel appetizer. It put much more emphasis on vegetables than on the fish, of which there were just a few shavings. But it was fresh, appetizing, and beautifully presented. My main dish was a vegetarian risotto, which was very rich and delectable. We enjoyed a bottle of Chilean Sauvignon Blanc; not the best S.B. I've drunk recently, but serviceable--and it was, after all, our choice. We could have gone with a much more expensive bottle. No one could ever describe Aqua Terra as "inexpensive"!

The dessert that came with the prix fixe menu was described as a shortbread, but the texture was not as crumbly as a true shortbread. It was accompanied by stewed fruits of several kinds, and a lot of whipped cream.

The restaurant was not busy, so early in the evening, and it was a pleasure to enjoy a dinner that was not crowded, not rushed, not noisy, had a beautiful view, and was expertly served.

The food and atmosphere here is almost perfect! The staff are very friendly and knowledgeable about the food and wine. I live in Kingston and can't stay away from their Seafood Chowder! If you can get a window seat, you will have a lovely water view of a Martello Tower and marina. I highly recommend this restaurant. Any restaurant that Clark Day has created and continues to oversee is guaranteed to be worth the trip.
