“Great vegetarian food, affordable prices”
Reviewed June 4, 2014 via mobile

After searching through Kingston for something that is both affordable and NOT a pub, we happened upon this one. Both the Quesadilla and the noodles were great - the latter convinced even a non-vegetarian. Do try the homemade lemonade and start for a coffee. Nice plus: it's a cooperative

“Most favorite place for breakfast, ever”
Reviewed May 11, 2014

Just had a newish item on the goat breakfast menu (Mon - Fri til 11, Sat & Sun til 1pm) - the CLT - toasted coconut is better than bacon (yes, sacrilege indeed). It will make it harder to decide next time - love the burrito and the tofu scramble too. Home fries are potato chunks - who else still does that? The Goat is also a great place for lunch or dinner - my favs are the Toggenburger and Quesadilla. And if you're looking for something sweet the desserts are yummy. Everyone is welcome here - all walks of life. Lots of families come - the toy supply in the corner keeps little ones - and sometimes others, entertained.

“THE BEST”

Really the best food I've ever had, in the best atmosphere for the best price. Everything on their menu I enjoy. Everything. Go there and try it for your self.

“A real genuine experience while in Kingston...”
Reviewed March 31, 2014

Our daughter is away at school in Kingston and has recently had to change her diet due to health issues. This poses a new set of considerations that we now must consider when dining out whilst trying to cater to everyone's palates at the same time. Sleepless Goat was not only able to please everyone but was actually a nice and tasty surprise. The atmosphere is very funky, the clientele varied, the menu interesting and quite diverse. The atmosphere even encourages you to spark up conversations with the other tables around you - you really don't find that kind of vibe in other places around town. Our daughter had the Tofu Scramble with a scrumptious curry seasoning, fresh veggies and delicious home fries. Since she cannot have the toast they suggested sliced avocado on the side. I tried the French Toast made on freshly baked in house whole wheat bread with a light dusting of cinnamon and icing sugar. The veggie taco was spicy and yummy with a mango chutney. This is a very cool place that we cannot wait to return to so we can try the other different & interesting sounding menu items.

“Relaxed, good value and real homefries”
Reviewed March 4, 2014

My favorite place in town for breakfast (how often do you see real homefries these days?), lunch (the grilled cheese is darned good) or dessert (no favorite, but the turtle pie is always reliable). The decor is at best quirky and definitely not to everyone's taste. (I don't think there's a lot of money to do it differently.) The (local) art is often interesting even if it's not your cup of tea. Eclectic clientele includes students, professors, parents, grandparents, kids, lefties and the odd homeless person. Good food, relaxed atmosphere, co-ed bathrooms. Worth a stop.
