The menu is huge. Normally this concerns me but I have to say they do everything right here. I usually get the pizza which is cooked in a wood oven.

“Variety and Quality”
Reviewed January 16, 2014

I've been here for lunches, suppers, and late night pizze. Every time the place has been packed full of customers, all very lively and all seemingly asking for something just a little different. The wait staff don't seem the least but phased by the cacophony, and always deliver appropriate levels of service from start to finish. The pizze themselves are always freshly-made to order, and encompass a wide variety of tastes from traditional to nouvelle cuisine. If you have to make a choice of Kingston's restaurants, this mist be in your top five.

“Delicious”
Reviewed January 11, 2014

I've been here a couple of times and each time the place is packed with locals and travelers. This is always a sign of a good quality place. The food is delicious and consistently of a high quality. The staff are great and very friendly and have great advice - they know their stuff. If you have room, I suggest their dessert that is a lasagna filled with strawberries and chocolate goodness. :)

“Kingston's very best pizza”
Reviewed January 7, 2014

Every once in a while you get pleasantly surprised by a restaurant meal. In a sea of mediocre restaurants all supplied by the same food distributor, Woodenheads stands out as a place that takes pride in what they serve. Ingredients are much better-than-expected. Preparation is thoughtful and very tasty.
There is a buzz in the place that is quite infectious. Some may say it's noisy - but it is alive! The wait staff is well trained and very attractive.
Pizza cooked in a wood oven was extraordinary. Fish selection was great. We had shrimps that were delicious (not the pulpy farmed variety).

“Nice little place with equally good food.”
Reviewed December 23, 2013

On a snowy cold night, I took a short walk from the Four Points hotel to Wooden Heads as it was one of the few places left open at that time of night.
I was pleasantly surprised to find that it was literally around the corner from the hotel, and that it wasn't crowded at all.
I was almost immediately seated next to the window on a very cozy table (note to self: bring a date).
After some deliberation, I decided to go with the Lobster Bisque Mac 'n Cheese and the Crespelle Gamberi. Both were very, very good. In fact, the Gamberi was on par with some of the seafood crepes served at fine dining establishments in Quebec City; which is to say, fantastic.
The Mac'n'Cheese tasted A LOT better with some tabasco sauce thrown in.

For mains, I went with the Margherita, and wasn't extremely impressed. For such a basic -yet signature- pizza, I would have expected more flavor. The crust was very well made though, and I still enjoyed it.

I forget the name of the dessert, but it was forgettable anyway. Look at the pictures if you're interested in trying it.

Service was very good, and the wine list was varied and reasonably priced. All in all, it's one of Kingston's better restaurants, and I definitely wouldn't mind going there again to try some more pizzas.
