“Used to be better, but fun with very good drinks and service”
Reviewed March 8, 2013

I have been to Kingston's Lone Star many times and enjoy it but it really used to be better in terms of value and quality of food. I do like the free chips and salsa and the delicious margaritas and sangria! A place to kick back and have some fun. Family oriented early evening and later is more fun for the big kids! Patio is fun in the summer too. Many people like to go there for their b-day. I like the fajitas or the chimichangas. A negative: They do not take reservations, so if you want to go at peak time you might face a long wait.

“"howdy"”
Reviewed March 2, 2013

If you can choke back the mildly irritating banter that the staff must use, the food is good. The tortillas are made fresh, food is always served piping hot and they have Texas sized Coronas. All in all, staff are friendly, food is good, atmosphere is average, they announce over a speaker system when a table is ready for anyone waiting. The staff all use ridiculous code names that must be 'texas themed'.

“NOT a waterfront patio”
Reviewed February 24, 2013

I've tried liking this place but it is a constant disappointment. Poor service and food is really bland and "Americanized". Contrary to their slogan, it does NOT have a waterfront patio. If you want waterfront dining, take the ferry and cross over the the Wolfe Island Grill, which is re-opening this summer under new management and terrific renos.

“Patio stinks of rotten old beer”
Reviewed February 24, 2013 via mobile

The service was slow. The beer wasn't very cold. The beer selection was terrible. Do you want a large corona that is exactly twice the size and price of a normal one So it can get warm? No thanks. Usually if you get a larger size you get a better deal.

“Great food”
Reviewed February 21, 2013

very great food in a fun western atmosphere. A bit pricey but its to be expected and it really is worth it. The Fajitas are the dish i would reccomend. The chicken is moist and the tortilla bread is all made in house! fun place!
