I have stayed at the Frontenac Club Inn several times while in Kingston on business. I found it when looking for an alternative to the usual big hotel chains that the company had been booking for me. This place is typically less expensive than the regular hotels and has way more to offer in terms of charm, room amenities, and a fantastic breakfast to boot! I never had a bad experience. Staff is friendly and helpful. I got to try out 3 different rooms and all were comfortable, quite large!, and the bathrooms are all to die for!

This Bed and Breakfast, is a great get away, it's location is within walking distance to the waterfront, the exterior of this hotel is very old , as you enter the front lobby you can see the history behind this building.
Our room was named the Stone Room, it was on the ground floor, a
large leaded window greeted us at the end of the room, a walk-in shower that was huge in size with rain shower heads not to mention the four jets that also come flowing through. The bathroom is separate . the room itself was large and the added surprise was a door that led into a large courtyard . The King sized bed was very comfortable with a large red head board that resembled a huge door. there was a television , hidden behind a glass door. we were given plenty of thick towels .
Every morning we were greeted with smiles, and a lovely breakfast of fresh fruits and breads, french toast .
My friend also had a lovely room she had the Atelier room , though a little smaller it was tastefully decorated with a Jacuzzi and separate shower. each day we sat in the back courtyard where there is the sound of a fountain, comfortable seats and two large trees that house plenty of birds who come for there feed at the bird feeder.
We found this Inn to be very relaxing , quaint and a perfect get away from it all..
I recommend this Inn to folks that enjoy a bit of the old world mixed with the best comforts of this century.

Stayed here for a weekend in July. Just happened to be a cancellation and we were able to get the Cooke Suite. It was such a nice suite. It had a little balcony and we had a view of the water. (nice surprise) The suite is in a separate building from the Inn. It was nice to be separate. It felt like a little oasis.
The first morning breakfast began with fresh berries and yogurt. Along with fresh juice. Also included was a basket of fresh bread. (that we found out was from Ace bakery) It was soooo good. After that, we were offered stuffed french toast. The choices were either apples or berries. We were also offered a hot or cold cereal....but we were way too full from everything else!
The next morning breakfast started with slices of cantelope, honeydew melon and watermelon. And the bread was sour cherry. After that it was the frontenac eggs. Which consisted of a slice of foccacia bread with smoked salmon and a sauteed tomato slice with a perfectly poached egg of top....and hollandaise. I'm not a big fan of smoked salmon, but this was wonderful. I was very impressed with both breakfasts.

I would highly recommend this inn to everyone. It was our first stay in a B&B and we thoroughly enjoyed it. We will definitely be back. The owners and the staff were all wonderful as well. They really made everyone feel welcome.

My husband and I first stayed here in 2005 during his 10 year homecoming at Queen's U. We loved it so much that when we got married in Kingston the following year, we booked almost every room in the 10-12 (?) room inn for us, family members, and close friends.
The Inn is truly one of the most beautiful historical renovation projects I've ever seen. The owners (who are friendly and quite hilarious - especially Susan!) took pains to preserve the features of the original, mid-19th century, building while making the hotel extremely comfortable from an early 21st century perspective.
The breakfasts (included in the rates) are equally wonderful.

I HIGHLY recommend this Inn!!

In celebration of our wedding anniversary, my husband and I decided to take the short drive to Kingston and stay for the night. I have never had such a great experience away from home.

Firstly, the staff was so amazing... from the moment that I called to ask questions, they were so friendly and very welcoming. We were looking for a room with a jacuzzi, and The Frontenac did not have any left, but they were quick to kindly offer other possible locations we could stay. Kayleen (I think that was her name), was so great, I called back a minute later and booked The Stone Room (which has a walk-in shower instead). The service was so great within that one call, we decided being treated so well was more important than our jacuzzi tub!

When we arrived, we had a great little tour, explaining the history of the Inn (which is very interesting), and were shown our room. It was beautiful. Very romantic and just what we wanted! The Inn's website (although very well done) does not capture the beaty of the Inn. Kayleen was quick to recommend some local restaurants, based on our taste. She knew the city very well. We had dinner at a little Italian restaurant just up the street.

Coming back to the hotel, we were free to look around the Inn at the artifacts found when the couple who own the hotel were doing renovations. Susan and Beare (the owners) stopped to chat with us about the work they have put into the Inn and their strong family commitment and values. Great people! They have obviously poured a lot of themselves into the Inn and making it a home away from home.

The next morning was fantastic. The most amazing breakfast I have EVER had! That is not an understatement! Wonderful Cranberry and Raisin Foccacia bread, citrus fruit salad, homemade granola topped with yogurt, fresh grapefruit juice, and a poached egg served on Rosemary Foccacia bread with roasted tomato and salmon! TO DIE FOR!!!!

All in all a fantastic experience. We are planning on returning to Kingston for the Bluesfest this summer and will be staying at the Frontenac Inn! Thank you for making our anniversary so special!

We stayed one Saturday night in the Atelier Room and really enjoyed the stay. Room was cozy, modern, and clean. It was surprisingly quiet for a bed and breakfast-no outside noise from other guests.
The hosts were very friendly and welcoming and prepared a delicious gourmet breakfast. The tour of the building upon check-in was a nice touch- we learned of its rich history as a bank. Its location is perfect for walking to and around downtown (shopping). All in all a pleasant stay worthy of its premium.

This was our first stay at a BnB. This place was terrific in every way-the service, the food, the location, and decor. We stayed in the Cooke Suite as it was the only room available at the time of booking- the website photos do not do it justice. A lovely sitting room and bedroom with balcony and fully stocked bathroom greeted us along with a suprise Easter goodie bag of chocolates as well. The suite was in the annex but guests have 24 hr access to the large sitting rooms in the main building, there was even a piano there. It literally takes minutes to walk downtown, we only used our vehicle once the entire weekend. What a great place. We were not planning on returning to Kingston this summer , but after such a wonderful stay here, we will probably head back in July.
