The food was ok, I just don't understand adding sugar to the currys. Proper Indian restaurants would never add that ingredient to anything other thn a dessert. The Kashmiri Chicken was so sweet I couldn't eat it. The naan was more like roti, it did not taste like it came out of a tandoor. The beef boonda was the better tasting. We got take out, and for th price we paid for each dish the containers were half full. Might still try some of the ther dishes If i get the craving and tell them not to add sugar. By the way I'm east Indian from Toronto and I know my Indian food.

The location of the restaurant seems a little out of the way in a strip mall at the top of Princess St. in Kingston, ON. However, the Indian food here is second to none in this area. Although situated in the old “Curry Village” and the new owner Saber is a relative of the Curry Village clan the atmosphere and food far exceed an expectations. We have eaten here twice so far with the average entrée costing approx. $10 - $12. The first visit there was two of us – we ordered their dinner for two which included two different appetizers followed by three mains as well as rice and naan bread. With a cost of approx. $25-$30 each (not including drinks) it was well worth it and very economical for a nice evening out. Our second visit this past Friday had four dinners. We ordered two appetizers (Samosas and Onion Bhaji) followed by 5 mains to share as well as rice and naan bread food was excellent and only cost a total of $100 for all four of us.
Service: Our waiter Joe has a very eclectic sense of humour and is very friendly and talkative. He will assist you in choosing menu items and will recommend with impunity. One thing you will notice here is that everyone seems to be always smiling (must be the hot chilies). Another thing worth mentioning is how often do you go out for a nice dinner and the Chef (Saber) visits your table to chat and to ensure everything was to your liking. And I do not mean “my” table I mean he makes a point of chatting with all his guests. This added touch of personality and charisma adds to the charm of this establishment.
Definitely the best Indian food in Kingston – highly recommended!

If you have never tried Indian food or if you enjoy a good Indian dish this is the place to go. The atmosphere is pleasant and the staff are excellent. Small intimate restaurant . The food is wonderfully spiced. You can even bring your own choice of wine to enjoy your meal.

We decided tonight on the way home to stop for some Nan Bread, Curry and Rice. They prepared us a wonderful Butter chicken and Palao rice, with a freh warm Nan. The Buttered Chicken curry was wondeer. as was the Palo rice.

We can 't wait to go back to enjoy the full menu and bring along our own wine.
