nice restaurant and they can pull out some good vegetarian choices- great for date night as it is an easy walk to the movie theater and also to Grand theatre- good food - typical menu consists of upscale pub food

We found this restaurant to be noisy and the waiter we had (in the bar area) was less than pleasant. We felt like we were putting him out! We didn't eat in the restaurant so can't comment on that part, but I hear the food is very good and the wait staff more pleasant.

A lot of people seem to like Milestone restaurants and we really liked the downtown Ottawa Milestones- near the NAC, when we first went there. But after visiting three others, we are no longer impressed; same menus, same routines, same food, all prepared and served to make sure the tables turn over as quickly as possible.

The Kingston Milestones added noise to the equation. It is in an old building and when it was renovated, it appears little attention was given to acoustics. We spent our entire meal enveloped in chatter from diners and the rattle of dishes being collected and cleaned.

To their credit, when we commented that a drink was not to our liking it was very nicely subtracted from our bill.

We did not realize it when we made a reservation for 2 on Feb 18 but it was the Scotties Tournament of Hearts weekend so the place was packed! I was wary the service might not be great because of this, but from the moment we stepped in, we had immediate service and waited no more than 10 minutes for the salad, and the main course came shortly after. The servers seemed on fire-- I even saw a couple high five each other as they passed! Clearly they had it all under control. Food was tasty and prepared exactly as ordered (Caesar salad, steak and shrimp special) and dessert divine (Ibarra chocolate cake) with lovely house wine. Costly, but this was a special occasion. For a splurge, I think it is worth it.

I don't think there's a good steak option. We split had the steak and prime rib. Both were not as good as a steakhouse. Tried my friends fish and it was overpriced for the portion. I don't like the selection of beers and the specialty mixed drinks seem like they are geared towards women(which is fine but there wasn't much I liked)
