“charming but generally pricier than stores”
Reviewed April 1, 2012

I love markets and this one is a regular attraction in Kingston. However, compared to the others we've visited, the selection is poor and the prices high. Still, go for the atmosphere. It's a pretty location and people are nice.

“Cute, cozy and local!”
Reviewed February 22, 2012

In the era of a Starbucks on every corner it is so nice to discover intimate and unique coffee shops like this. It has a very European feel and the staff and owner greet you like a neighbour with a big smile every time - even though I am not a coffee drinker so I don't stop by on a daily basis. For me they filled a big gap for a decent "corner store" in Sydenham Ward and along the waterfront. They sell basic supplies (milk, bread etc.) and some deli and quick meal items including great local finds like Lyons Farms organic meats and sausage, Garlic Fields' pizzas from Elginburg, soups from Mill Street in Sydenham, and other delicious frozen meals and breads by local chefs. A great selection of some of the fabulous local food happening in an around KTown in a friendly and tasteful atmosphere.

“Best Coffee in Kingston and groceries too!”
Reviewed February 20, 2012

Stopped in for a few groceries this afternoon and enjoyed a bowl of delicious chili and the most divine lemon tart I have ever tasted. The perfect thing with my latte. What a treat. Loved the vibe.

“Atmospheric, Limestone alternative coffee-market.”
Reviewed January 30, 2012

Great year- old cafe with old world charm of limestone walls and wood and leather furniture, and new world perks of WI-fi, freshly ground coffee beans and lactose- free milk. Arguably the best cappuccinos in Kingston. Nice adjoined market with fresh baked goods, fruit, sandwiches and carefully selected items. Couldn't find Fry's Cocoa in major grocery store but got it here!
Clean and comfortable with good lighting and consistently excellent service. 500 m from downtown and across street from lake front. Cheaper and plentiful parking. Washroom needs renovating but otherwise fine.
Highly recommended.

“great little cafe near the waterfront”
Reviewed October 19, 2011

In one of Kingston oldest historical downtown buildings on Ontario street, west of the main tourism restaurants, near the waterfront. This independent new cafe (like a starbucks or second cup) serves up coffee, lattes , other drinks, baked goods, sandwiches some soup/chili in a nice stool/counter settting with antique counters and cupboards. Also a convenient place for the neighbours in the near by high rise condos to pick up bread milk and other groceries, some of them very unique..give it a try to get off the main tourist restaurants on Ontario street downtown.
