“Lovely way to spend a couple of hours”

I found watching the boats travelling through the locks to be very interesting. I had never seen a working lock before, so it was great to be able to view it right up close. The Poutine at the nearby cafe was also excellent!!

“One of the Rideau's Gems”
Reviewed August 4, 2013

Jones Falls has to be one of the most fascinating and beautiful lock sites on the entire Rideau Canal. There are four locks, and a wonderful crescent shaped dam - an engilneering marvel on its own. The lockmaster's house is very interesting - a glimpse into a unique lifestyle from the past. There is a lovely inn nearby which serves delicious meals.

“Fun for entire family”
Reviewed July 28, 2013

This is a gem on the Rideau canal system of locks. We have been on a boat through the lock previously. This time we watched ships going through the locks and enjoyed having ice cream near the hotel. This is a very beautiful area not that far (40 minutes) from Kingston and the Thousand Islands of New York.

“Nice piece of engineering”
Reviewed March 3, 2013

A nice spot to explore on a summer day. Watching boats traverse the series of locks, exploring the displays and learning about the history of the construction of the canal is a must do if you are visiting the area.

Be sure to get an ice cream cone at the hotel store at the base of the locks.
