A lot of history and free walk through
Worth the stop to have a look at history
Hotel Kenney looks interesting
Staff are somewhat preoccupied to help though

“Step or Boat Back into History”
Reviewed August 17, 2012

Yesterday we took friends on a day trip to Jones Falls. We saw many boats going through the three leveled locks. Interpretive guides showed us the Blaksmith's shop and the Lockmaster's house. The marked walking tour guide led us to the Stone Arch Dam, an amazing structure since it was built in the 1800's and still in use today. Voyageur canoe trips are offered from the lock station and we hope to return to do either a one or three hour trip. We had a good "fixed price" lunch at the Hotel Kenney. It brought back many memories of days gone by!

“Well Worth the Visit.”
Reviewed May 15, 2012

It was an interesting and informative experience. Be sure to explore the entire site including the huge dam and the operating blacksmith's forge.

The entire Rideau System is a beautifully preserved monument to Col. By, his engineers and the workers who built it.
