We went to Ramekins for Thanksgiving dinner this past year. It is absolutely delicious. You get just enough food so you don't feel over stuffed after eating. Their sole is also delicious not to mention the delicious desserts.

Ramekins is a delightful family restaurant. The food is delicious, especially the roast beef with Yorkshire Pudding, the shrimp dishes and the "Scallops a la Ramekins. The waiters and waitresses are always friendly and efficient. Our family particularly likes a private room that they have at the back of the restaurant that could also be used for small business meetings since the round table in the room has comfortable seating for about 8 people. The restaurant also has the space to set up seating arrangements in the main dining area for large parties of more than 20. To keep very young children happy, there is a play area. A bonus feature of the restaurant is that the chef offers a special menu that is super for seniors and shut-ins: a choice of 7 entrees for around $49.00. This restaurant has been popular with Kingstonians for a number of years. If you try it, my bet is that you will want to return!

We've stopped in several times with our extended family on visits to Kingston. This is a good option for a family, lots of selection of classic family fare (steak, chicken, lamb chops, veal, pasta...), large plates and good prices. Their 3 course dinner for $19.95 is particularly popular. When we were there, we had a choice of 3 appetizers to choose from - A Greek Salad (small and uninspiring), The "jumbo shrimp" appetizer, ( 5 very large shrimp - great value for the money) and mushroom caps (covered in mozzarella cheese - very good!). Desserts are very good as well.

If you want a casual dining experience with the best of food and service, Ramekins is the answer!
We have been going since 2000, and have never been disappointed.
One time, when we were there, a young couple from Montreal was there to wait for a table - when they had stopped in Kingston a few years back, they happened upon Ramekins and loved it. They said they now come at least once a year to enjoy the food, service, and ambience, even though they still live in Montreal, where that city is known for good restaurants. So, what does that tell you?
They also have a senior's deal whereby they will even deliver meals for a week to seniors, costing a mere pittance in my view.
Why not try out this great spot?

Stopped here for Saturday Breakfast. It was busy but service was speedy and friendly. Eggs cooked perfectly, hot and tasty homefries - and tea that was made with boiling water, served immediately so it was delicious. Loved that the servers came around several times with a freshly boiled kettle of water to pour into teapot. None of this taking pot back to kitchen and heating water but not to full boil, then back to table to make tea. Bringing kettle to table may seem a small thing but for me it made the difference. I would go back any time
