The Four Points Sheraton is right downtown, which is a good thing when visiting Kingston. It close to the water, a short drive to Queen's University and the fort, a block from the market square, shops and many fine restaurants (Woodenheads Pizza is right around the corner, delicious, always busy - need reservations at peak hrs). The front desk staff is friendly and since we have stayed 4 times they try to book us a nicely located room and even upgraded us when they could. The rooms are clean, the beds are very comfortable and the bathroom is bright and well laid out. The decor is boring beige. The pool area has windows that bring in natural light and the water is warm. In the winter we pay for their underground parking, otherwise we take our chances on the street if we can move the car early before the parking police arrive. We had free internet and free bottled water. We'll be back.

Our group of 18 people had to find new lodgings suddenly when the hotel where we were booked had to be evacuated. It was already late in the evening. The front desk staff handled our group cheerfully and efficiently. No small feat for a rather large group. And management matched the price we would have paid at the other hotel. We will certainly consider them next year.

This hotel merits three stars because of its location. If you're visiting Kingston, it really is in the heart of the city -- though there are other hotels too. But otherewise, I'd give it a two.

Check-in -- brusque service. The young woman who checked me in didn't crack a smile once and shoved my room key to me. Not impressive.

Room -- Wow. I didn't know you could cover a whole room in so much beige. Beige walls. Beige carpet (with flecks of brown); Beige bedspread. Beige-ish throw pillow with beige adornment. Beige ... you get the picture. The sheets were scratchy and uncomfortable. Thread count 75 maybe. Nice king bed. Nothing on the walls but a picture of a church. Nice view out the window though. Thin walls. I could hear my neighbour's alarm clock (set to some annoying pop station) go off at 6:30 a.m. They were either a heavy sleeper or reeaaaaallly liked Britney, because it stayed on for a good hour and a half. Could hear voices in the hall at all hours. Some staff member delivered newspapers at 5 a.m. or so -- how did he/she do it? THUNK! Threw it on the floor. At each door. THUNK! THUNK! THUNK! I guess the hotel was quite busy that night. No mini-bar. Nothing to drown out the horror of beige. The free water and the quality of the toiletries were nice touches though.

Front desk staff checking out were much nicer than the snip that checked me in.

Sizzles -- the restaurant. Meh. 90s food. Edible but not outstanding. But that's what you often get with a hotel restaurant.

Kingston is a lovely city. And it deserves a lovely little hotel (not B&B -- not all of us like those). I hope it gets one soon because this sure isn't it.

Thank you for taking the time to express your views about the Four Points Kingston. We are very proud of our recent renovation (completed in the fall of 2009) of all 171 of our guestrooms. Most of our customers love what we have done. In fact we were awarded the Best Renovation for a Starwood Property in North America for our size in 2009. I do apologize for the loud noise coming from your neighbours room a quick call to the front desk and we could have rectified that situation.

We hope to serve you again next time you are in Kingston and you may contact me personally to make your next reservation..

I stay at the Four Points frequently and can't say enough about the facility the staff and the food.
Rooms are beautiful all refurbished, the service staff are friendly professional and quick.
The food from the restaurant and room service is excellent.
A great experience and the location is perfect to enjoy downtown Kingston anytime of the year!

I stayed with our family and they even gave us connecting rooms! Swimming pool is great for adults and childen and the service is friendly and efficient.. The Four Points Sheraton is in an excellent location for walking around the beautiful city of Kingston and being able to just leave your car parked safely at the hotel.

My husband and I went to Kingston for a get-away night. It was more than we had hoped for.the staff are wonderful, the hotel is awesome and Kingston is a beautiful city. The on site Restaurant is also worth checking out...we had dinner and breakfast there and were very happy with both the service and food. The hotel seems to anticipate the traveler's needs before you ask :o)
