Looks like a roadside motel from the outside. Once in your room you find way more attention to detail. Jacuzzi baths, robes, even a decorative fireplace. DVDs available for free at the front desk.

Staying here while visiting our daughter at Queens. Will definitely stay again.

Ate at Minos Greek restaurant on the recommendation of the hotel and this surpassed expectations too.

My first contact was a phone call to verify: a) if they had wifi (yes); b) if babies would be a problem (not at all); and c) if the tripadvisor coupon was still valid (yes). The person on the phone, Daniel, was incredibly helpful, and he was present when he walked in and gave us a great welcome. This included providing us with a map of the local area with restaurants he recommended! We tried one and it was pretty good, especially as it had take-out.

The room itself, a king executive, was great. Very comfortable bed and our baby loved crawling around on the carpet. My wife liked the Crabtree and Evelyn amenities, and I regret not having a chance to use the whirlpool tub! Wifi was very easy to connect to, and we were able to drive right up to the room.

Small quibbles: We could hear a faint mumbling of voices from the room next door, but only once at the beginning of the night, and I'm sure we gave better than we got with our little baby. Also, with only one window at the far end of the room (there's one at the back, but frosted over), there wasn't much opportunity to let in natural light without letting strangers look all the way in. This didn't bother us too much as we were really there just overnight.

This was an incredible value for the rate we paid; we will definitely be back whenever we stop in Kingston!

Do not mistaken the Green Acres Inn as a motel despite its appearance and location along a highway and a somewhat dull neighborhood. This was a solid B&B: comfy bed, clean bathroom, flat screen TV, in-room coffee maker & microwave, free WiFi (a bit weak inside room), complimentary bottle of filtered water, convenient parking right in front of room, very helpful staff, etc. SImple continental breakfast served to room every morning by a pleasant lady - the croissants were hot and tasty. Yes, the room was on the small end but everything worked just well for us.

Room Tip: Although noise wasn't a problem for our stay, you may want to as far from the main road as possible.

We have been staying at Green Acres for more than10 years when we visit family in Kingston. We have stayed with our son when he was looking at Queens University, we have stayed with our daughter on visits to the city and we have stayed as a couple for reunion weekends. Every time the service has been amazing and the value outstanding. So clean and comfortable! They have a good variety of accomodations from standard rooms to family suites. Although we have stayed at other hotels and B&B's in Kingston, we keep coming back to Green Acres because of the excellent standard they set. They are continuously upgrading their facility and adding new amenities to enhance your stay. The parklike grounds are very large and there is lots of open space to walk a dog away from noise and traffic. This past week my husband and I stayed one night and had our dog with us. Such a pet friendly establishment and no extra charge for the dog! Another big chain hotel, more conveniently located downtown on the waterfront, charges $100 extra for your pet! It is only a 10 minute to drive to the downtown area from Green Acres Inn and well worth the time. You won't be disappointed.

Room Tip: While the standard rooms are very well appointed, pay a little extra for the upgrade to a junior suite for more space.

We stayed at this property in October 2012 on a last minute change of plans. We were winterizing our sailboat, and decided it was too cold to stay on board - so booked this property on the way to Kingston in the car, using quick check of TA on the Ipad.

We were not disappointed. We booked the cheapest/smallest room, since we just needed a place to sleep for one night. The room was small-ish, but the value was huge. The property is spotless, check-in staff were very helpful, and the room was very nice. The place looks recently renovated (I dont know when, but it looks pretty new for a 50 yr old propery !).

Linens were great quality, bedding was comfortable, and the room was very well appointed with a small fridge, microwave, and good quality bathroom ameneties. Modern bathroom fixtures, flowers in the bathroom, etc.Pretty much what we would expect at a boutique inn - except that the Green Acres is a motel from the outside !

They also had wi-fi, a pool (we didnt use - too cold out !), and offer a continental breakfast at a very reasonable price (we didnt try it since we went out for a large hot breakfast before heading to the boatyard to work all day !).

If I was staying longer, I would take a larger room, but that is my personal preference.

The location is a bit away from the main drag in Kingston - this means you need to drive to hit the nite life, but also means that the property is located in a much quieter spot than downtown.

Two thumbs up on this one.
