“Great for families and pet-friendly hotel”
Reviewed May 28, 2010

It was about time we finally got out for our family vacation. The kids had been complaining about no vacation for the past year so we decided to go out. This time we were headed up north to Canada. Many of our friends have been up there and reccommended that we see the 1000 islands.

Kingston was our first stop upon crossing the US-Canada border. We were told that it is quite scenic there and there are boat launches from which we can see the 1000 islands. The weather was also exceptionally nice when we entered the city, with the perfect combination of the sun and the beautiful waterfront in downtown. We were all excited. Even our dog could not seem to stop barking in this excitement!

We were especially keen on staying in a waterfront hotel. Unfortunately, all waterfront hotels downtown were booked on this day. One nice lady from the holiday inn reccommended we try Bayside Motel Waterfront Suites, which was also waterfront. Within a 12minute drive, we arrived at this place. The hotel's courteous staff showed us around the hotel to ensure we were satisfied with the place and its rooms. In fact, we loved this place and it was great to spend our family vacation here. The kids really enjoyed the paddle boat rides and even begged us to stay longer.

Thank you for all the hospitality,
Quinton and Janice

This hotel was a great place to sleep and located near everything. We ate at the restaurant right next door, then went shopping at the mall and riocan center which were also closeby. No issues with with sleep quality. After a tiring day's outing in Kingston, we we got a refreshing sleep to continue our journey back home. Although we originally wanted to rent a a waterfront room but since these rooms were booked, we opted for a standard room with one queen bed which still met our expectations. Our room was spotlessly clean and smelled great when we checked in. Free wireless internet and coffee in the morning was a bonus.

I came to Kingston to see one of my clients to settle a property transaction. This hotel was a true hidden gem with more than you can ask for the price. The staff went beyond my expections to make me feel at home, from giving me extra pillows and towels to informing me all about Kingston and its tourism. Very nice people to talk to who were also very patient as well. I had booked the waterfront room at this hotel from a friend's referal. This motel room had everything you could ask for in a standard hotel for the $79 I paid, plus the rooms were immaculate with a nice veiw from the balcony. This experience was like waking up to savings with an added feature of the waterfront which really made my day.

I stayed there for 3 nights during a business trip to Kingston and i must say that the Motel services were excellent, the rooms were great, the hotel staff was friendly and extremely flexible to my requirements. The location of the place is excellent as it has the gas station, Tim Horton, an excellent resturant by the name of bella bistro just at one mintue walk. Ive been here once during summers as well and i enjoyed that stay aswell since i had a chance to relax at the bay side, take a ride on the boat and just enjoy summers in a quiet enviornment............the only down side or limitation is that such a great hotel at such a great location should have more rooms as often the hotel is fully booked so you have to book in advance if you want to enjoy the ride .......Chris !

Kingston was a great stop for my weekend getaway. I visited this city for the Fort Henry tour and also did some shopping at their shopping outlets. I booked this motel because of the reviews posted on tripadvisor. This motel was nice and convenient with everything you can think of nearby. I checked into this place late and slept like a baby. The staff was very welcoming inspite of my late arrival and very friendly to talk to. Although they didnt serve breakfast in the morning (which would be a bonus), there was a Tim Hortons just across the street. This place looked beautiful in the morning. People were ice-skating in the nice sunny winter weather with birds humming everywhere. Again, it was a great stop for sleep so I could catch my tour at Fort Henry in the morning which was equally pleasing. I will surely be back to this place, maybe for the summer. Kingston has alot of attractions that are definetly worth seeing.

We stayed here as we were on our way back to Toronto from Quebec city. This place was right next to a restaurant and Tim Hortons so we didn't have to drive to find some place to eat. Stayed here for only one night and then headed back home next day. Service was excellent as they made sure if we needed anything, they would provide it to us. The only issue we had was the city. Kingston is a small city with very little to do.

The staff were very accomodating and helpful. However the bathroom could have used a good scrubbing. It would be great to get the complimentary coffee in a sealed container rather than loose coffee grains in the bottom of an open can. The noise from the train was very disturbing all night.

Beautiful view of the bay.

We are thankful for having you as our guests and strongly value your opinions towards making our hospitality as best as possible. Therefore, we will ensure for next time that our cleaning is extra thoroughly inspected and we will ensure that complimentary coffee will be provided in sealed packages only to our guests. To correct for the disturbance you experienced at our hotel, we can book you a room towards the waterfront for your next trip. They tend to be our most quietest rooms. Unfortunately, many hotels in Kingston experience similar noise issues for some of their rooms with a variety of factors involved, some controllable while others out of their control. Above all, we thank you once again for your honest feedback.

Sincerely,

Bayside Motel Waterfront Suites Management
