We recently stayed at this motel. Seemed nice on the outside, but my partner (who was sleeping next to me) got bitten by bed bugs. They are all over his body. Most uncomfortable feeling. And what compensation did we get? A very small portion, 10% of our stay..and because it was a cheap stay, we only got $20 back... Bed bugs exist in this hotel. Avoid if at all possible!
Also arrived on Friday night. The girl at the counter seemed nice. My mother-in-law was able to use the bathroom when we arrived. Well, a different girl was there when we had an early checkout and refused me to use the washroom.. I tried to explain how my bathroom was occupied and that I had a bladder condition.. She didn't seem to care and directed me to the Tim Horton's bathroom.. A 10 minute walk down the street.. Which felt like an hour. Seriously, do not go here.

We stayed at the Econo Lodge city centre for one night on a trip through Kingston. The hotel has been recently renovated, and our room was very nice, considering what we paid. It was about $100 for the night, and our room was clean and comfortable. The location is reasonable. We walked almost everywhere. It takes about 15 minutes to get to the start of downtown (division st), and then another 15 minutes to walk down Princess st to the waterfront by city hall.

The service was friendly. The continental breakfast looked pretty basic, so we went out for breakfast. There are lots of great little breakfast places downtown anyway, so that didn't bother us.

Overall, don't expect anything fancy, but if you're looking for clean, cheap, and close to downtown, this place should work fine.

We went as a family to the Econo Lodge city centre. Given the area that it was in we were a bit apprehensive. However once we checked in we were pleasantly surprised by our room with two Queen beds. The room was clean as was the bathroom. The beds were amazingly comfortable. We were very impressed overall with what we got for the price. We would recommend this a discount lodging for a family.

this was just a stop over for us but found it to be quite a nice little hotel/motel. Room was small but the bed was great. Bathroom a bit small too. The recent updates mad e this a very comfortable stay. Only downside was no cream for coffee. Milk and whiteners only.

I went to this hotel with my husband. Everything seemed to be great. It was very clean, modern, and overall a very nice hotel. However, at night we realized how thin the walls were. Everything about this hotel was nearly perfect, but being able to hear every word of the people in the room next to you is not comforting at all. And of course, if you can hear them, they can hear you. For that reason alone, it was a bit of an uncomfortable stay.

Excellent value, in this recently-renovated budget motel. The place was clean and in good repair, though obviously an old motel building. The walls are thin (not soundproofed). But the room was surprisingly spacious and well-equipped, the bed was surprisingly good, and the staff were uniformly friendly, competent, and helpful. Even the free-breakfast was better-- I expected a few crummy doughnuts and watery coffee, but got juice, (cold) cereal, toast, good coffee, milk. The location is o.k., on the main road in town near a shopping centre, but not near downtown.
We visited colleagues -- who have a lavish expense account -- at the Radisson downtown. Their room was only slightly better, but it was three times the price of the EconoLodge.

I stayed at this hotel for a conference at Queen's University, which was about a 20 min/half hour walk, or 5 minute cab ride. The room was somewhat cozy, but well organized and comfortable. In fact, the room was no smaller than a hotel I paid double the price for in Toronto. The front desk staff were incredibly helpful and friendly, and the continental breakfast was well done as well.
Kingston has plenty of Inns and B&Bs that are suited for couples and romantic getaways. But if you just need a place to sleep and relax, this Econo Lodge is an excellent choice.
