First time staying in Kingston overnight - we were in town for a hockey tournament first week in January. The hotel staff was extremely pleasant and very efficient - the woman who handled our check-in is particularly noteworthy for her sense of humour as well. The rooms were fantastic, very spacious, very well maintained and fully modernized. The breakfast, which was included, was exceptional - it had both hot dishes as well as an extensive contintental spread and was constantly being refreshed. The coffee was excellent. The kids enjoyed all the amenities. Great all round experience.

Thanks for the great review! We’re glad to know that our Express Start breakfast prepared you for a busy day at the arena and that our rooms suited you as well as the young hockey players. It’s always nice to hear positive comments about our staff and I will pass this along to our front desk team.

We stayed here for family X-mas visit. Marble Front Lobby , Hotel was clean no hidden charges.
Hot breakfast incl all usual continental yummies, but they went a step further. 1st morning we had ham and omelets as well there was a pancake maker. All you had to do was push a button and the pancake come out the other side. 2nd morning we had sausages and scrambled eggs and the usual goodies. Large eating area too. We had a King room with micro and fridge and pull out couch , bathroom was roomy and clean. Pool was too cool for me but daughter didn`t care, spent my time in the Hot Tub . Very convenient right off Division St from the 401 . Plaza across the street with Tim`s, McD`s, 24 hr Shoppers, Arby`s and 2 gas stations and more shops. Next family visit for us will be spent at this Hotel. Price was reasonable for families !!

The hotel room felt like a five star hotel. The room is large, good size washroom, large TV, love seat, desk, extra towels, high end carpet, ceramic in the vestibule. Most important a very wide entry, I wasn't cramp or knocking my luggage around trying to get into the room. Very clean!

The bed was new and very comfortable.

Hotel has lots of parking. Staff were very pleasant. Free breakfast.

Most important, THE PRICE IS RIGHT!!!

You will not be disappointed.

Stayed in an extended suite for NYE.

Pros: Was warmly greeted at check-in (5pm Dec. 31) by a pregnant woman who may be the most pleasant person in Kingston. Recognized platinum status. As you enter, the attractive oversized suite is well laid-out featuring a living room with desk, couch, coffee table and 42" Samsung plasma (over 60 channels, no HD). The bedroom is at the back with another nice work desk area and 42" tilting Samsung plasma. The rooms are divided by a wet bar - smartly equipped with a sink, full-power microwave, bar fridge and cabinets - and a massive bathroom with clean, basic tiling and ample counter space. Having opened in 2007, public areas and rooms offer modern decor with intriguing artwork throughout.

Concerning room comfort, they get everything right. Super-comfortable bed. Diverse pillow selection. Good soundproofing of rooms and hallway. Wall-mounted heating unit was set to 20' and worked perfect. Water pressure was strong with an ergonomic showerhead and hot water within 10 seconds.

As for hotel services, this hotel offers more than the average HIX, including a small pool, jacuzzi and fitness centre. Globe & Mail delivered to door. Even a local paper in lobby as well. While not a fan of the standard plastic utensils, undercooked hockey puck sausage and scrambled eggs seen at most HIX hotels, breakfast is much better here with proper utensils, sausage links, omelettes and pancakes among other hot items. The dining area itself is spacious and pleasant. Free parking and an easy 5-minute drive to downtown Kingston.

Cons: Minimal. Was really looking forward to using the spa .... searched everywhere for the jacuzzi dial, could not find it. First time this has ever happened. There is a green button on the wall where the dial would be 99% of the time, but it does not activate the spa. Elevators are very slow moving, but with two elevators serving only 5 floors, you will never wait more than a minute. Breakfast fruit selection was limited to soft bananas. Night front desk lady was a stark contrast to check-in - never once offered a greeting or smile.

With a just few little touches missing (e.g. offering quality toiletries; a set of two plates/glasses/utensils in suites for in-room dining; HD channels), the in-room experience is just a shade below a 4-star offering.

Overall, an excellent choice.

Room Tip: If you appreciate space, pay the extra $20-30 for the extended suites.

Thank you for choosing to spend your New Years Eve with us. We are glad that you had a comfortable stay and enjoyed all of our amenities. Our extended suites do offer many great upgrades and we are glad you were able to take advantage of most of them. We are sorry to hear that you had some difficulties figuring out the Jacuzzi bathtub. In the future we would encourage you to call the front desk and our staff would be happy to explain it to you. It is important to us that you are able to make the most of everything our hotel has to offer. Wishing you all the best in the New Year!

The hotel is new, clean, comfortable, quiet, and reasonably priced. I would definitely stay there again. The only thing I would suggest is for them to add different varieties of fruit for the complementary breakfast. They only had bananas.

I have stayed have many times in recent years on business travel. It is an excellent hotel, with friendly staff. The most recent stay was 2-7 Dec 12. Would recommend this hotel. The include breakfast offers a wide selection of hot and cold food. Excellent coffee. It has a small pool and work out room. The room has a good desk to work and the hotel WI-FI was problem free. It also works well for smart phones. A very good value for the cost.

. I have stayed at this location for business and pleasure. Every time has been a great experience. The staff are very friendly, the hotel is spotless, the breakfast has both hot & cold items and quite a variety to choose from. The pool & hot tub are clean and there are always clean towels on hand. The gym is small but they have enough equipment to enable anyone a good work. The rooms are always clean and quiet, no outside noise. The bathrooms are large, good lighting and lots of clean towels. The location is great close to everything, restaurants, shopping downtown and even the 401.
highly recommend this hotel.
