My mother and I signed up for an short course they were teaching on making Victorian Christmas decorations with flora from the Dundurn gardens and other styled historical items. Unfortunatley, it was cancelled due to lack of intrest, but we went to visit anyway and throughly enjoyed ourselves.

We had a lovely tour guide (which was optional) who went at a good pace. He discussed the heritage of the owner/builder, history of the furnishings, and the general state of everyday life and economy of the times.

The house seems to have been kept in an original condition as much as possible and the grounds were a lovely park like setting for a stroll. A really nice way to spend an afternoon.

This is a great location to walk the outside park area, have a picnic and of course take a tour of the home.

Dundurn Castle isn't really a Castle , but a large Estate. It has is beautiful inside and out. There are guided tours that explain the local history.

It was great to see the castle as it was many years ago. The furnishings and decorations. You could visualize how it was back then.

I have visited here a few times. Mostly on school trips with my children. I enjoyed the history. Learning about the McNab family who used to live here. It would be nice to tour the whole house, a lot of rooms are not shown.
