“Nice Rooms”
Reviewed July 2, 2012

The hotel is a nice one, rooms are clean and staff are very helpful. I would have like to have wi-fi in my room instead of having to plug my computer in, but they are changing this sometime in the near future. I did not like the fact that extra money was charged for parking. I stayed for 5 days and felt this should have been included in the room fee.

Clean rooms, comfortable bed, excellent restaurant that is not even on tripadvisor for ratings (fifty point). My sole complaint is no wifi in the rooms. The tv also didn't get some standard channels - tsn, food network - and it often had to reboot itself.

Booked a 1 bedroom suite so taht we could entertain before dinner. no room air conditioner in the living room. had to blast from the bedroom but failed to cool the living room. called front desk who said that is a problem!!! what they knew it was aproblem but never warned us when we booked the king suite as opposed to a regular hotel room. maintenance came up and siad ya it is a"disign flaw' adn they have had :"multiple complaints " abotu this before. we were shicked and fooled. he siad to urn on the extractor fan in the living room...did nto help. we ended up not being able to use the livbing room. we asked about being transfered to anotehr room, frnt desk said they are all the same but coudl put us in a regular room smaller with no fridge and no living room; but as we had pre paid through Expedia, they woudl nto reimburse us the diffference so not happy at all. they gave us a meal coucher for breakfast but frankly that was not what we wanted at all. other issues in room, one bathrobe, again remem, ber this is a 1bedroom suite!!! also the living room TV had lines and not clear; as it turned out we did nto watch it because we coudl nto sit in that room. the hallway was cooler than the living room. also no air condition was even on when we arrived at check in so it took 2 hours or so befire we realized this is not getting any better. so we went to breakfast as they gave a voucher, adn the service was not good. our wiater deserted us and never even brought my toast, and wsent to set up for the fathers day brunch....what we had was good but we finally jsut left aswe realized he was nto coming back to the table/ and i was never going to get my toast. anotehr fmaily member had the luxury 1 bedroom suite and that was great , there was air conditioning in both the bedsroom and the living room, we did pay more than 200.00 per night for ours and it was not worth it at all. upon check out they asked so how was yoru stay; we trold them the air conditioning issue was not good ( it was 20 degrees celcius at checki in/ she immediately said i see the note on file but we didgiv eyou breakfast!!!! that was not the point. comfort of the room was key ...if they think a free breakast fixed the problem...they are mistaken. we felt they needed to disclose at bookigng that the room does not cool.

Room Tip: do not book the 1 bedroom king suite. the maintenacne person told us directly it is a design flaw a...

Physically, this is a great establishment. But making people pay an additional cost to park in a huge empty suburban lot is bad policy. Finding a big dirty pizza box under my bed was worse.

We had our Catholic Women's League convention there over the May 25th weekend. Not only was it easy to get to from Burlington as you just take Highway #6 all the way there but it was a lovely, welcoming spot! The staff there is young but they have obviously been well-selected and very well-trained as they took excellent care of all of us all weekend long. Any time we asked for any help, it was quickly given. Oftentimes they sensed our needs before we even had to ask; now that's service! I would highly recommend this hotel to anyone and everyone; as a matter of fact, I already have!!

Room Tip: We loved the queen-sized beds and wonderful pillows. They had a unique bathroom area which we reall...

We stayed at this hotel while we attended a dance competition at the River Run Centre. We have stayed at other hotels in Guelph previous years and this was the best hotel we have stayed at in Guelph.

We found the location to be quite good. It is about a 10 minute drive from the River Run Theatre, but all the hotels are that distance from the theatre located in the downtown area. The hotel is beside the University of Guelph and is very close to a wide variety of restaurants, a shopping mall, and the athletic club (next door) where hotel guests can work out.

There is a large parking lot, but there is a nightly charge to park your car. In previous years, I chose not to stay at this hotel because of the parking charge! Our parking rate was reduced by 50% because this was the host hotel of the dance competition we were attending. Also, our nightly room rate was quite reasonable for this same reason.

We found the staff at check in and check out to be very friendly and helpful. We had to wait for check in and check out because there was only one person working at the check in counter.

We did not eat in the restaurant because the prices seemed a little higher than we normally pay. We chose to drive down the street to Moxies, Milestones, Cora's, and Tim Horton's.

Our room had a king size bed and a pull out couch. The king size bed was closed off in its own room, which was nice. The bed was very comfortable. The pull out couch was not as comfortable, but they never are. The kitchenette included a mini fridge, microwave, and coffee maker, and a kitchen sink. We had 2 flat screen TVs - one for the parents and one for the kids. There was a large desk with fast (included in price) internet. I really liked the decor of the room. There was plenty of lamps/lights and it was very clean. The bathroom was a good size and clean. The temperature in the room was perfect without me having to adjust it at all, which is rare - I usually find the room to be too cold or too hot when I arrive. I was surprised to find the room quite quiet. I could hear traffic on the road outside, but it was distant. Our room was close the ice machine and the elevators, but I was not bothered by them at all, and I didn't hear any noise in the halls. The hotel was fully booked while there. There were no stairs to negotiate with heavy luggage and the elevator was very fast.

Thank you for taking the time to write a positive review of your recent stay. I see that it was your first stay at the property and it’s nice to know our staff can make such an impression. I believe you were in one of our deluxe rooms; these are very popular with our guests and most will agree with you about the layout and amenities. I hope that we will see you back at the hotel the next time you are in the area or that you will consider Delta in the future.
