“Tasty”
Reviewed July 6, 2012 via mobile

This family run restaurant is great! The food is tasty, though sometimes the meat dishes tend to be a bit thin on the lamb, Lamb Saag being my favorite ... good nevertheless. Friendly staff. Recommended.

“My favourite Guelph restaurant”
Reviewed May 16, 2012

I have been a fan of Bombay cafe for literally decades. The food is wonderful, the service perfect the prices amazingly modest. Spiciness isas you wish it. The rice is light enough to float off the plate. The chicken tikka appetizer is as good as chicken can taste. A tiny restaurant, it also seems to have a highly varied and happy clientele. I always take friends and relatives here and they are always pleased. The curried goat, I have that 75% of the time. Onion bjasi is delicious. Now the wine is ok if you get the bottle, with ridiculously low mark up. Cotes de Rhone 19$. But if you get the house wine, I think Kressman's, well it is quite awful. But to see your host deliver the glass to the table filled right to the brim, not spilling a drop, it is almost worth and only 3$ and change. I love this place and the very congenial owners.

“Great Value for Money at Lunch”
Reviewed January 9, 2012

I've only had the lunch special here, but it was fantastic. Lovely butter chicken done to any spicy-ness you like. It was a bit more tomato-y than a lot of butter chicken I've had, but still very good. Two vegetable curries. Rice. Naan. And a bit of custard for dessert. There's not a huge amount of each thing, but it's enough for a nice, satisfying lunch. And you certainly can't argue with the price!

“Wonderful, reliable, friendly, good value”
Reviewed November 5, 2011

I'm Indian and have lived in Guelph for 7 years. I've eaten in or had take-out from Bombay Cafe at least 30 times. The food is always fresh and excellent, and a wonderful value for the money. Eating in the place is quaint and small and nothing special. This is literally a Mom and Pop place (+ son), and the wife does the cooking. The family is super friendly. Everything is clean -- I've NEVER gotten sick from eating anything here. I'm vegetarian, and highly recommend the following: aloo paratha, mataar paneer, and chana masala. I would rank this as the second place Indian restaurant in Guelph after Bollywood Bistro -- Bollywood is more expensive though, has smaller portion sizes, but has more mouth-watering food and is a nicer place to eat in. Anyway, my wife and I go to both places.
