Stayed here for 2 nights when in Cambridge on business. Check in was great, very lovely young lady who provided me an upgrade for my room. Got to my room and while the room is quite dated and tired looking, it was spotlessly clean. Couldn't say a bad thing about it other than the terrible pillows. Had a look at the room service menu and while it looked good, the place was empty and there were way too many items on the menu with not many customers for the food to be fresh. Not saying it isn't, but I always worry about those things when eating in restaurants.

There was a conference being held in the hotel when I was staying there but was never distrubed and still treated like a valued customer. Got to say, the front desk manager here should be proud, as the staff are great! There is a side door off the lobby to go outside, it is closer to the elevators and you dont have to walk around to the front doors. On 2 occasions a front desk person noticed me walking to the door with items in my hand and ran over to open the door for me, nice touch.

Ordered food locally and went down to the restaurant, and they were happy to help me out with plates and cutlery even though it was for outside food. Thought that was quite nice as well.

Side Note: Just dont use the pool or hottub, kind of gross. Hot tub water was green and foamed green when the spa was turned on, as well theres a ring of buildup and scum around the tub at the water level. As well the pool looked clean but there was no pump or filter running whatsoever, so decided to leave the pool alone as well. These are the reasons they got a 4/5 review instead of 5/5.

Over a great hotel and reccomend highly.

We booked a "one bedroom suite" at this hotel assuming that this type of accommodation would provide separate living room and bedroom/sofabed for us and our adult son. We were surprised and dismayed to learn that this specific HGI property uses the terminology backwards from the rest of the hotel industry and the rest of the HGI chain.

Our "one bedroom suite" turned out to be one big room with a bed and sofabed in it. Apparently, if you want a separate living/bedroom option, you have to book a "junior suite". (The travel industry dictionary defines a junior suite as " A hotel room that features a separate living-sitting area -- although not a separate room." I was advised by the reservations desk that the property owner isn't obliged to use terminology the way the rest of the Hilton chain does.)

We stayed overnight while attending a company Xmas party and found the room to be very spacious, the bed was comfortable and it was very clean. Breakfast the next morning was great with an ability to get both hot and cold dishes. We did not have time to try out the pool so I can't say what that was like. It is conveniently located next to the 401 which means you can get around but there is no scenery to view from the windows.

The rooms are always clean, the staff friendly and willing to help. The dining is fairly good - breakfast buffet can be ordered according to individual preferences - that is omelettes, pancakes etc. It is central to many attractions and shopping.
Always happy to stay here!

Room Tip: all the rooms are fine - have stayed here many times

Love the Hilton Garden Inn as have stayed many times in the US.Lobby looked the same and desk persons friendly. Had to wait the next day to have room cleaned till almost suppertime then no towels/ facecloths- housekeeping were overworked as hotel sold out.Breakfast mediocre. Location was convenient. Fitness center had worn out machines.

We were 10 who stayed in 7 rooms. The rooms were bright and clean and the beds were wonderfully comfortable. For the price the quality was above standards. I've stayed in Hotels in Downtown Ottawa at 3 times the price for about the same quality. Breakfast included in the price of the room was a great time saver for us.
One little thing that did bother me was the complimentary bottles of water once gone were never replaced. It was a hot week and the water in my room was gone on day 1. For about .25 cents a bottle when bought in bulk I found that a little "cheap".
Overall everyone in my group was pleased with their stay.

Room Tip: If you don't need 2 beds the rooms with the single King are great!
