We stayed here for a basketball tournament and for the price I don't expect the lap of luxury but I certainly have a few expectations. It took 45 mins to check in, 1/2 hr to check out, 3 phone calls and STILL do not have a proper invoice, with the correct name/rate/billing information on it. The hotel overbooked, put someone in my room-NOT from our team and ended up charging them for BOTH of our stays. Some things are simple...hit delete and start a new invoice. The restaurant was a joke, as was the "free" continental breakfast. We couldn't have dinner before the game b/c people had been waiting 2 hrs for food and still hadn't received it. NO operational ice machines in the entire facility and they hadn't been for some time. Hair product left on the hotel hair dryer. Something disgusting and tacky on the hotel pen that I used to take orders as we had to go somewhere else to eat. NO housekeeping service over the weekend stay-as evidenced of the chicken wing that spent the weekend in our hallway. NO heat for any rooms on our floor with even numbers and I find it EXTREMELY unsettling to see that the hotel had such an insane amount of space heaters (not maintained). This place was a fire hazard waiting to happen. The door handle came off in the hand of a 4 yr old--yet another fire hazard. The bathroom floor had NOT been washed nor the room thoroughly vacuumed. ICE COLD drafts blowing in from the patio doors. Peeled wallpaper, poor repairs/patch jobs. The shower head was designed for someone under 5 feet. 1 day with NO hot water. NO hydro during the first evening and to top it off one guest woke in the morning to find blood and dried food on her sheets as though the sheets had never been washed, luckily the heat and hydro were out when she went to bed so she slept in her coat. Seriously, when this manager knew @ 2p on a Friday that rooms were without heat and the hotel was completely booked he should have 1) called an electrician/heating specialist 2) called in more staff to accomodate the restaurant/housekeeping. While he was not explicitly rude to me, I did witness him telling people not to come back, personally, he should have been standing @ the door with vouchers begging people to give it another chance and apologizing. I have stayed in MANY hotels in a variety of price ranges and some much lower than this. Losing hydro could happen to any hotel, the heat going out perhaps that could happen too, however knowing about these things and not doing something IMMEDIATELY about it....that does rest on the manager. It is almost laughable with all the things that went wrong in our teams stay. What is not is that to most of the staff...it seemed like another day at the inn and no big deal. Luckily we were spending our weekend with a great group of kids/parents and we made the best of our situation. I would strongly suggest to go to another hotel...ANY hotel!!!!
