“Finally a Hotel that takes it's service serious, a great total experience!”
Reviewed January 13, 2010

As a regular traveler, this was one of the finest stays I have had in quite some time.

The desk staff was professional, pleasant, and sincerely welcoming. The room, the halls, the lounging area, the elevators, and all other public areas were spotless, fresh and inviting. They reflected a true pride in delivering a perfect lodging experience. All of the support staff that I encountered were happy and lifted my spirits during my stay. To experience all of this along with a very competitive lodging price would place this Hampton Inn establishment along side of much costlier Luxury and Boutique Hotels on my list of regular visits. Truly worth a little extra drive if not your exact final destination.

Kudos to this establishment for taking their customers needs serious! I will return again.

We stayed here for 3 nights in early December 2009. This is the newest hotel in Brantford and it was well worth staying here.

We had a standard king room, which had the following amenities of note:
- very comfortable bed with a duvet
- thermostat controlled room temperature
- AM/FM clock radio (mp3 player compatible) with built-in nature sounds for relaxation
- large LCD TV
- complimentary internet access (both wired and wireless)
- sofabed
- closet with iron & ironing board
- plenty of lamps, all of which had compact-flourescent bulbs
- bathroom with granite counter, energy-efficient toilet, Water Pik showerhead, hair dryer with nightlight, and a large selection of toiletries
- tray table for breakfast in bed
- complimentary Globe and Mail newspaper

The rest of the hotel was just as impressive and state-of-the-art featuring a business center, fitness room, decent-sized pool, and large breakfast area. Complimentary coffee was available in the lobby across the front desk as soon as one enters the lobby.

As this is a Hampton property, their On The Run breakfast came included with the room rate. This was most impressive as it offered a vast array of items, including some hot items. Here is what I noticed as part of the breakfast offerings:

- 3 choices of coffee (regular, strong, decaf)
- Hot water with a good variety of tea types
- 3 choices of Kellogg's cereal (Special K, Raisin Bran, Froot Loops)
- Regular and Skim Milk
- Whole wheat toast and bagels
- Pastries including cinnamon rolls, muffins, croissants
- Juice dispenser with orange and apple juice
- Fresh fruit such as bananas and apples and freshly-made fruit cocktail
- Hot items (at least 2 daily) varied each day but I did have sausage patties and eggs as examples

For those who don't have time to dine Monday to Friday, On the Go breakfast bags are available at the front desk.

The hotel may be situated toward the western part of Brantford but getting to the center of town took less than 10 minutes by car and was fairly direct even using the local streets instead of the highway.

Seeing how other hotels in town charge similar or higher rates, staying at this wonderful new property is well worth it based on all the benefits the guest receives.

We booked this hotel 3 months in advance for our hockey teams tournament (9 year olds) over the Christmas holidays. Our children were very excited about staying together on their first "away" tournament this year. On Christmas Eve the hotel manager Danny called me and left a message to advise that four of our team members were being bumped to another hotel down the road due to a flood in four of the rooms. When I called him back he advised us that another team had agreed to be moved and confirmed with us that all of our rooms were confirmed available for Dec 27th and 28th. On Dec 26th, I again called the hotel to see if we could get an early checkin around noon on our arrival day . Although they could not guarantee they did not forsee a problem since the hotel had very few rooms booked the night prior to our arrival.
On our arrival day one of our team members attempted to check in early and were told they were unable to check in at noon but could check in at 1pm. They told the front desk staff that they were unable to return at 1pm since they had an out of town funeral to attend but would be back later in the evening. Again they were told no problem as their room had been confirmed on credit card.
Upon arriving at 8pm later that evening to check in, they were told that there was no room for them, given a bottle of wine and sent up the road to the Comfort Inn - a much inferior hotel. After arguing with the front staff we were told there was nothing that could be done and we would have to speak to the hotel manager the next day.
The next day at 2pm I received a call from the manager apologizing but not willing to offer much of solution to appease this situation. Danny advised that he now had a room for our team member for the second night and they were welcome to come back but needed to pay for the night. I suggested that he comp them the night for their hassle but he told me that he was unable to do this. The best he could do was a discounted rate. This is a hotel where our team members were locked into payinf for 2 nights of 14 rooms but many left after the first due to our standing in the tournament. As well, this was a Sunday and Monday night which under normal circumstances much of this hotel would have been empty....at the very least we could have been granted one free night for the second night for the guest that had been displaced!

Our team felt that this hotel did not want teams staying there and had their back up from the moment we checked in. Please note that there were at least four other teams of 9 year olds staying there too.

On a positive note, the hotel is very clean and new with a great complimentary breakfast. It is set in an industrial area and geared towards business travellers only.

I often stay at Hampton Inns due to their advertised "100% satisfaction guarantee". In this situation we were definitely not satisfied with the outcome of the situation that occurred. When rooms are booked 3 months in advance for the team to stay together as a "team", bumping one family to another hotel is NOT acceptable!!!

Fine new Hampton Inn and Suites in Brantford, Ontario. Just opened and spanking clean. I stayed in a king room with a giant desk and LCD Tv - perfect for work and lounging around. There were no immediate restaurants near by but plenty just a few minutes away in town. BTW, it's really a convenient location of the 403 Hwy between Hamilton and Woodstock, and just a jump to Cambrige and Kitchener. Trust me, you'll love it.

This hotel is located just off the 403, just outside of Brantford, ON.... It has only been open a couple of weeks I believe... Stayed here September 23rd, for 1 night, and was very impressed with what I saw! I originally booked a 2 queen regular room for $129.99... and was upgraded to a King Suite upon arrival for the same price (with HH GOLD status). The king suite is BEAUTIFUL! Large flat screen (maybe plasma?) tv... really spacious room, HUGE desk to work at, and nice fresh funky decor. This room had a mini fridge and microwave, as well as a kitchen type sink (in addition to the bathroom sink).

Only downfall to the Hampton Inn is that you have to drive 2 highway exits for any restaurants or gas stations. Otherwise, a GREAT hotel, and I will definitely be back as often as I can!!

p.s. "TARA" at the front desk was really polite & professional- she was a great first impression to the new hotel when I checked in... and followed up to make sure I was happy with my room later on when I came back downstairs. Thanks Tara!
