“Needs some updating but food was good”
Reviewed May 9, 2013

An older building tucked away behind large buildings. Inside, it is dated and in need of some refreshing. I had a business lunch here and it was enjoyable. The waitress was a little unknowledgeable about the food, and when we ordered a botlle of wine, she brought only one glass to one person - so a bit of a bumpy start, but she eventually got it straight. Everyone said their food was good, a couple of dishes had a bit too much sauce covering the veal etc. for presentation purposes, but the taste was good. Plenty of options to choose from, price points were good. I would go back again.

“Love this neighbourhood restaurant!”
Reviewed April 20, 2013

A great atmosphere to go with very very good food and very reasonably priced wines.
We have enjoyed this restaurant with groups of friends (12 - 16) and with family.
Even though ownership has changed it remains one of our favourites.

“Another Italian Restaurant”
Reviewed April 8, 2013

There is nothing exceptional about La Capannina. Every time we've been there the service is mediocre, the food is ok, and the atmosphere is average. There is really nothing outstanding about this place. It is one of five Italian restaurants in the area. In fact other then coffee shops and one divey diner, there is nothing but Italian in downtown Brampton. You really need to do something special to stand out and they don't.

“Awesome Experience”
Reviewed January 4, 2013

A couple of my friends (teens at that too!) and I decided to visit this place after just googling known restaurants near Gage Park for a skating trip. After eating there just the day before, I can definitely say this is one place I WILL GO BACK TO. The restaurant is warm and intimate, perfect for a close dining with close friends. It is not a chain restaurant like East Side Mario where food is served in bulk - quantity over quality. Their menu has the most exotic foods like oysters, smoked salmon and veal - something you would not find commonly. I ordered the smoked salmon with shrimp rosee fettuccine (something new and appealing) and it turned out to be one heck of a tasty dish. My friends also commented that it was a very good restaurant to eat in and was glad for the experience.

Given the setting, as mentioned before, it is warm and cozy. The restaurant is small, the noise level kept to a minimum and it was a perfect evening out. As teenagners, we didn't really care about the services much, but the waitress that served us was warm and friendly. There was another waiter catering around other older customers; from what picking up conversations, he was also polite. The dishes are reasonably well priced, but a bit tad to the expensive side. However, what would you expect for an exotic and authentic Italian menu? The selection of wine is vast and one plate is more filling with starters of fresh bread and a drink.

If you are looking for something to bring a few close friends or a date, this is the perfect place to go for a quiet, intimate dinner. I will definitely be retuning again.

“Authentic Home made Italian food in Cozy atmosphere!”
Reviewed December 13, 2012

I eat at this restaurant regularly and have almost never been disappointed. On busier nights service has beem a little slower but it is a small place. The food has never been cold and always tastes perfect at least to my taste. I have had seafood, veal, pasta and it is perfect for my liking. Tiramisu has good flavor. Wines are good. From the oustide it could be missed but once you find it I am sure you would go back. It is worth finding.
