Despite being a busy Sat night they quickly got a table for us (5). It was undestandably busy but they had a reasonable service and the food and wine was excellent. Finished our holiday on a high.

Pizza and caesar salad is super. I have always had terrific service and the price is reasonable. I love the atmosphere for romance. Will continue to go to Paulo's in Belleville.

The title says it all. Wonderful thin crust pizza cooked in a wood fire oven. Interesting topping combinations for a pizza that is not just your average pepperoni.

We take a group of 20 to Paolos from time to time, and we have never been let down.

I had a Tilapia special which was fresh and nicely prepared. The side of penne in olive oil and garlic was a perfect side for the fish. I had the Tartufo for dessert. It was perfect with a fudge center and Haselnut rolled ice cream.

The wine list is solid and fairly priced. Enjoy anytime.

We attended Paulo's Italian Tratoria April 17, 2011 for an anniversary dinner. My wife and I chose it based on a previous meal which was very enjoyable.

Our experience on April 17 was much different.

Despite having made a reservation for 5 several days earlier, the hostess had no knowledge of the reservation and quickly shoved a couple of tables together.

Our party ordered a Caesar salad and bruschetta as appetizers. A party member had to approach the serving counter in order to obtain pepper for her salad. Pepper is not located on tables; wait staff are supposed to offer fresh-ground pepper as courses are served. The very bland bruschetta topping appeared to only diced tomatoes with no onion, garlic or any other seasoning.

Between the appetizers and the mains, no bread basket appeared at out table; all other tables in view did receive bread baskets.

The Penne Pescatori was served with the pasta luke warm. The shrimp were decent enough, but the scallops were rubbery to the point of squeaking when chewed. The dish was described as "inoffensive".

The Chicken Parmasen again was served with luke warm pasta; the chicken was charred black on the bottom and the breading needed to scraped off.

The Penne Alfredo came with the requisite luke warm pasta. It was impossible to discern any white wine, garlic or other seasoning in the Alfredo sauce and the pieces of ham were few and far between.

The luke warm Linguine Roberto was similarly bland, but the olive oil had been administered with a very liberal hand.

Our daughter's pizza was quite tasty.

As the meal progressed, a member of our party had to flag down the waitress as she passed in order to get water glasses refilled. We even had to request the bill twice. LOL

Overall impression: very bland, almost cold food coupled with indifferent service at (Belleville) top drawer prices.

Not recommended when Tomasso's is 15km down the road in Trenton.
