My husband and I visited Hibachi & Buffet last night for dinner and mutually agreed we would never return or recommend.
The price is absolutely ludicrous. $37.50 for 2 people, extremely poor variety and several empty food stations, and the pleasure of being seated close to what appeared to be the very messy staff gathering area, where many of the young staff members would loudly argue, check their cell phones, complain about cleaning off tables, etc. etc.
I did not try the actual "Hibachi grill" element of this experience (the grill is located beside the sushi bar) but everything else I tried leaned toward the lesser side of "so-so". The advertised "big ticket item" of the menu was king crab legs, but incidently, the buffet does not offer the tools to crack the shell or dig out the meat.
Also, the decor and atmosphere is terrible. Someone needs to get "Restaurant Impossible" in there. Nothing about the various swipings of clashy paint, the gaudy plastic-coated gold furnishings, the tight proximity, poor layout, and total lack of anything that says "inviting" didn't win any points for me, either.
I can't see this place lasting long here. Belleville is a fickle and "cliquey" city that tends to dismiss sub-par eateries very quickly.
Bottom line: save your time and money, and if you are in the mood for a buffet, try give North China or Buffet Gardens a try. Cheaper and less appaling all around.
