My hubby and I along with our little guy dropped by this place as We needed a lunch place to to stretch our legs on our way to Toronto. We actually discovered this place via Yelp and most certainly will be telling our friends about the delicious meal We had.

We ordered a Ham and cheese quiche, daily soup, and a smoked chicken sandwich. Everything tastes delicious right down to the last bite. You can smell the melted cheese in the quiche before you even bite into it! The chicken sandwich was mixed with cranberries and walnut which gives it a nice crunch. My hubby loves his coffee and often times he'd complain resto coffee are 'water down but he really enjoyed his at this place.

Overall We really enjoyed our meal at this place. The food was good, friendly service, cute town. We will definitely stop by this place again!

Tried to make a reservation for my girl friend's birthday, they would give me one without them righting my credit card number on a book. The book is just under the counter and any employee could access it and steal my info.

LAubergeFrance, Manager at L'Auberge de France, responded to this reviewResponded June 3, 2014

It is unfortunate that you were unable to actually engage in a culinary experience at L'Auberge de France prior to writing this review. I am truly sorry that you felt you could not enjoy a special birthday with your girlfriend at the Bistro.

However, I would like to take this opportunity to inform you of our reservation policy:
When we do ask for a credit card it is kept in a separate book with tear-away pages. This book is locked up at the end of the shift. When a specific event is finished, the manager destroys the credit card numbers. We are a small business and we uphold the credibility of our employees.

Although we cater quite frequently, the only bistro dinners we offer to the public is our Chef's Table. This is what was offered to you when you called for an evening reservation. It is a set menu for $35 and we host it once per month. We require reservations so that we know the quantity of food to order and prepare. In the past we have found that we had received a high concentration of cancellations and no-shows, this results in food waste and essentially affects financial aspects of our business. Guests are informed that they have 48 hours to cancel or will be charged $35/person.

As purveyors of the food industry we enjoy experiencing other restaurants and we have found that many establishments require a credit card number to hold the reservation, especially for special events. Many businesses including almost all hotels, event bookings, tours, and a variety of restaurants require credit card information for a reservation. I do not believe that we are an anomaly in this regard!

We are open Mon-Fri 10-6 and Sat 9-6. We serve a delicious lunch and we do not take a credit card for any reservations held within this time period.

Again, it is unfortunate that you were unable to experience a meal at L'Auberge. Perhaps it would be more appropriate for you to bring your girlfriend in for a delicious croissant on a Saturday morning? No credit card information required.

Great company at the big chefs table, food was served family style and on this occasion was vegetarian. All very tasty except there was overall too much salt. Would deftly go again.
