Would love to spend an evening in the British Arms, if only it was more British! It's a Canadian bar and I didn't find too much in it that reminded me of home.

There appears to have been some changes at this place. Menu is now all about fresh home made fare and they have some great drinks deals. I ate there twice this week, firstly on Friday for Haddock and chips and it was probably the best i have EVER had and Sunday lunch I ate the Prime Rib which was only $11.50. I have absolutely nothing to critisize. It was warm and cozy with the fire blazing. We spoke to the manager who infact is English! I first thought this place would just be a bar on Dunlop similar to all the others but they really are doing a great job at being a true PUB. The best in Barrie. You wont be disappointed!!

Family of four - Two adults and two children went for lunch. Kids had chicken quesidias which were on the appetizer list. Adults - one had chicken club and other had liver and onions. Two beer, two pop. Bill was $65.00 plus tip. Kids meals were good but club had to be sent back as bacon was not only undercooked it was refrigerator cold. Liver and onions - massive amount of mashed potatoes but one very small piece of liver. Liver is very cheap and getting only one small piece is silly. Worse part?? The service. Had to ask for glasses for beer and the wait was ridiculous. 1 1/2 hr for lunch - not even during lunch rush - we were there at 3:30 p.m.!!! Visited website prior to going for lunch and saw various specials for Sunday (which it was). Once there the waitress advised those specials were for Monday not Sunday. When we told her the website listed Sunday there was no response. Would not go back. We went to Mullies Bar and Grill just up the street a couple of weeks ago and had MUCH better FOOD and SERVICE. Bill was a lot CHEAPER as well. I wouldn't even go just for a beer as the service is sooooo SLOW!!!
