“Worth the money - world class slides and park”
Reviewed September 5, 2012

Very impressed - we went on a Thursday and there was rain in the forecast, although the day was mostly sunny and hot. Parking lot not even 1/3 full, and worst lineups were only 15 mins. Rides were unbelievable, lazy river terrific, kids splash area a complete water park in itself. Only complaints would be that charging $8 for parking on top of the expensive admission fees (and the park is in the middle of nowhere - not like you can take a city bus there instead!) and that everyone has to pay even if someone like my wife who has vertigo and won't be getting in the water or going on the slides. Why don't they give out bracelets for those who are going to swim/slide (different colours for different heights) and charge a nominal amount for other visitors like $10 to enter the park for the day?

In any event, the park is well set up, everything close to eachother, and there were washrooms and water fountains conveniently located between the slides. It would seem to me that a season pass would be well worth it. It would be nice if they had family rate season passes. Also they could benefit from more deals/coupons - maybe waiting until business trails off before they start giving those out??

Hello,

We are happy to hear you had a blast with your family at Calypso.

For tickets note that even handicaps pay a fee to enter the park. We lowered the ticket and make them pay the under 1.32 m instead of over 1.32 m. We understand that we often have people not sliding for any reasons such as seniors, pregnant women, handicaps or people with vertigo, like your wife. Our priority at the park is the safety of our clients we have over 125 lifeguards at calypso but their job is to ensure safety on-site and that the attractions run well. We can't start checking everyone with or without bracelets it . We have another park in Quebec City called Valcartier Vacation Village where we do have a ground access for people not sliding but they still don't have access to the site where the attractions are. They have access to restaurants, boutique and the main pavillon.

Note that we lowered our season pass for next year. Adults paid $99 plus tx instead of $149 plus tx and people under 1.32 m pay $89 plus tx instead of $119 plus tx. If you plan to come a couple of times in the summer it is worth it. We also have a coupon in Attractions Ontario.

We do have a parking fee at Calypso like other parks such as Canada's Wonderland or La Ronde. Note that we are constantly expanding and will have a new theme river with inner tubes in 2013. It is an investment of $6 million.

We hope to see you again in 2013!

“fun for kids but a little on the expensive side”
Reviewed September 4, 2012

rides were a blast, some of the line-ups were too long, after paying over a $100 bucks for admission for 3 , the park still has a nerve to charge $ 8 bucks for parking. Not a family activity we would like to do every sunday.

“Wonderful time”
Reviewed September 2, 2012

Went to this water park with my two kids ages 2 and 5. We spent 3-4 hrs at the park, however regretted not having more time to spend at the park. The park was a little bit hard to find for me because my GPS did not recognize the address. The park is located at the corner of hwy 417 and Limoges rd about 45 mins outside of Ottawa. For the short time at the park we were able to do all the smaller water slides, wave pool, and had a great time in the children's water area. The wave pool is pretty big and is a blast for my 5 yr old. There were plenty picnic tables in the park to make home as you move throughout the park. Unlike some other reviews I did not find employees at Calypso park any different then other amusement parks (e.g. Wonderland, CNE, Marineland) likely high school or college age, nor did I find them rude or impolite. We have been to Great Wolf Lodge many times and Calypso is far better. Overall, we had a good time.
Things the Calypso park should consider:
- more change room stalls as it gets pretty busy late in the day
- round tubes for the lazy river
- regular pool for swimming (might exist but I did not see one)
- add more showers near the changing area

Hi,

Thank you for taking the time to write a comment concerning your visit at Calypso. Note that we will have a new theme river with inner tube in 2013. We currently have Jungle Run which is an active river with boards but will have a new lazy river with tubes next summer.

Thank you again and we hope to see you next summer.

“Whata blast”
Reviewed August 30, 2012

I took my 4yr old and 9 yr old grandsons - they said it was 100 times better than wonderland. We went on a very hot day mid week and had no lines to endure. There was lots for all age groups. We all felt very safe, there was plenty of life guards, the grounds and the pools were very clean. I cant wait to go again.

“its a must”
Reviewed August 25, 2012

This water park is a place to have fun with friends mostly. the slides are very fun and gives a lot of thrills, the aqualoops is my favorite, all pools are heated which allows better comfort in the water. I highly recommend renting a cabana, each unit must be booked online for $ 25 per person with a maximum of 6 people. this includes a comfortable place on the site near the bar and smoking area with table chairs and chairs for tanning also a small fridge in each cabanas. the keys will be handed over by the bartender cabanas so all your belongings are safe.

if you buy your tickets in advance, go directly to the point of access to the site. all backpacks and coolers will be searched before entry. the waterpark website gives you the information needed for prohibited items on the site, so important to read the rules before you travel there.

the wave pool is the best I've seen and the waves are bigger and really intense. Park offers you the opportunity to have an account for the family and your fingerprint is used for payment in restaurants. very useful not need to keep cash on you.

if you have young children, the park offers an area for kids with attractions that will make their happiness.

Water shoes are not allowed in the slides, so it will not need to bring with you.

the waterpark is constantly improved, new to discover every year.

I wish you a wonderful visit to Calypso Water Park.

VERY IMPORTANT parking fee are 8$
CASH ONLY
