“Old Triangle Irish Ale House Aug 18, 2014”
Reviewed August 18, 2014

We went there twice. On our arrival we went in for a quick beer around 10:30 on a Friday. The place was jumping, rather loud and the kitchen was closed. Looked like a good mix of locals and tourists. We returned on Mon for early dinner. Our waiter, John, was excellent! Reads sign language from across the room (More Beer) and quiickly responded. At 1st there was some nice Irish music in the background, which he turned up when asked. Unfortunately as time wore on so did the background noise. We left before the nightly entertainment. We both had the Lamb shank. I had 2 beers and my wife a glass of wine. Lamb was ok but a little salty. For desert- Lemon pudding and Guiness Gingerbread both very good. We will no doubt return and ask for John. Total was $80.50 CDN

The recommendation was right, what a place!!! We loved it!! We sat in the front but from what I was able to see there is a section in the back as well. We were fortunate to find a table in the front as the live music was there. They were great! They food was amazing as was the beer. We would definitely recommend the pub to any friends that would visit the area.

Ate lunch here with 3 colleagues, and all of us were impressed with the food. I highly recommend the lamb burger - one of the best I've had.

“Great Irish fare - fab seafood too!”
Reviewed August 17, 2014

Very popular place, so seating was fought o come by. There is no host/hostess and is seat yourself. No reservations. There are several tables outside, with seasonal heaters and there is live music on weekends. Minors are NOT permitted after 10 pm. The staff is very friendly and the food really quite delicious. Would recommend.

“Reviews were right - great all around local place”
Reviewed August 16, 2014

We arrived around 9:00 on a busy Saturday night and sat outside as there was no empty tables inside, and it was quite pleasant and we could still hear the music (great, great music!!!) Was like being in Ireland with the great ale and fish. Great menu and food was very pleasing, with good portions and decent prices. Server was attentive and fun. The whole experience was a great intro to Halifax and short walking distance from our hotel at Four Points. Would definitely return for food selection, taste, service and music!
