Description: The Old Triangle is an Irish family owned traditional Irish pub established in 2000. We feature an extensive menu of hand crafted Irish & Maritime dishes, 22 taps of local and international brews and an excellent selection of wines, hand picked by our in house sommelier. We feature live music 7 nights a week, matinees on Saturday, Irish dancing and live sessions Sunday afternoons. Our upstairs Seanchai (pronounced shan-a-kee) has Quiz Night on Tuesdays and is also available for private events of up to 80 guests. We are proud to have the finest, friendliest staff in the city, a beautiful summer patio and a warm welcome for all who enter.

We had snacks and drinks here a couple of times. Service was fast and friendly, food fresh and tasty and reasonably priced.

This place rocks. We have visited Halifax 3 times in the last 4 years and this pub is our favourite. Always a busy place so go early. Many locals visit there after work for a brew and everyone seems to know each other. The staff are exceptional......all of them are so friendly and full of fun. We have tried a number of dishes and all were excellent. If you like wings, you must try theirs.....baked in Jack Daniels!!! Although we didn't stay too long after dinner this time, on our last trip we stayed for some live entertainment.......a local fiddler who was just great.
If you want to be part of a fun time and enjoy great food and service you must visit the Old Triangle.

First, this place is REAL!
Second, they don't cash-in taking door fees like most other pubs in Halifax!
And Third, the food, drinks, ambiance, decor, servers (Victoria!) and patrons are the best anywhere!
My son Matt and I, along with his friends Bashir, Dave and Kevin were all there recently for a night on the town...EVERYTHING was spectacular.
From the Harp, Shocktop and Smithwicks pints, to the Belfast Burger, the Pizza Marguerite, and even the Veggie Burger platter, you've simply got to experience the entire menu, wander about, laugh and enjoy, and above all enjoy the true Nova Scotia Hospitality that the Old Triangle Irish Ale House is renowned for.
As it's been a while since I was in Halifax, cudos to my Bluenose Buddy Ian for reminding me to visit the Triangle while back in town, it was awesome! TY
Cheers
Paul

Recommended by locals as the best place for pub food and beer selection and it did not disappoint. Reasonably priced, great tasting food and a tremendous selection of local beverages. Great vibe in the place; a little noisy when full but expected.
With a packed house you can get lost in the shuffle but the service time was acceptable.
Bonus: french pressed coffee!
