Description: The Old Triangle is an Irish family owned traditional Irish pub established in 2000. We feature an extensive menu of hand crafted Irish & Maritime dishes, 22 taps of local and international brews and an excellent selection of wines, hand picked by our in house sommelier. We feature live music 7 nights a week, matinees on Saturday, Irish dancing and live sessions Sunday afternoons. Our upstairs Seanchai (pronounced shan-a-kee) has Quiz Night on Tuesdays and is also available for private events of up to 80 guests. We are proud to have the finest, friendliest staff in the city, a beautiful summer patio and a warm welcome for all who enter.

The music was great, the atmosphere was too. A good pub to soak in the eastern feel. We visited the Triangle in Charlottetown also, had quite the night there. A definite must when you are in the East.

Although it was haddock (I'm a cod snob) the fish and chips was very good. Service was good and there was live entertainment.

I visited the “Triangle” for dinner with friends and co-workers. Food was so-so and not impressive at all. Desserts were the same. However, I highly recommend it for a beer, pub atmosphere and live music! The bar was hopping and was the main attraction. Meet your friends, have a few pints and go to dinner at another downtown spot!

This is a great place to relax and have a nice drink or delicious food with some friends. Great location and prices are good as well.

We visited the Ale House on our 2nd night in Halifax. It was a Sunday evening and the place was packed and very loud- we couldn't really carry on a conversation at our table. The decor was pub style and my mother who had just returned from a trip to Ireland enjoyed the atmosphere. The food for our group was hit or miss. The fish and chips were tasty and the lamb got a thumbs up. I had the Celtic Burger, a vegetarian option and it was quite tasty. The pasta and nachos were barely edible. The live music was a disappointing American folk singer-type- we were expecting something abit Celtic. We would probably try other restaurants on our next visit rather than this one.
