Offers the absolute BEST in fresh seafood. We had the seafood platter which is designed to fill the bellies of two adults. A complete lobster, snow crab leg clusters, clams, muscles, scallops, fresh Atlantic salmon, fresh haddock, salad, clam chowder ... what a FEAST while overlooking the harbor!!!!!

Five of us had dinner at Murphy's on a cold April evening. The restaurant was not at all busy and we pretty much had our choice of tables. Loved the casual ambiance and it was great to dine overlooking the harbour and watching the ferry make it's frequent crossing.

Service was a little slow, but that simply meant we didn't feel rushed at all. Each of us had ordered different meals, which were generously sized and tasty, though I would say the caesar salad was not the best I've had.

Overall, we enjoyed our dining experience and would return on a future visit to Halifax.

We passed 2 other places along the way that were busy, Murphy's was empty save one table. We were completely ignored by the staff and as a result we left and went back to one of the busier places we had passed. Disappointing.

had invited my bestie for a run to Halifax and Peggys cove for her retirement and to wine and dine her after 38 years of service. we went to what people told us was one of the best restaurants in Halifax.... boy they were wrong. We ordered scollops wrapped in bacon they were served with a mixed salad with maple sauce they were like cardboard and the salad was limper than seaweed , our main course was blacken salmon....it wasnt blacked it was burned crispy... we brought this up to our server and she said thats the way its done here... so for a 80.00 dinner the dinner was not eatable and the service was lacking. I would suggest anyone thinking about coming to murphys on the wharf should skip it and go to a place called STAYNERS WHARF they are awesome way better service and awesome food .....

I love the location, the waterfront is a huge tourist attraction, the place has great potential maybe just needs a menu update and so renovations!
