I am a fan of the Lower Deck downtown Halifax and am an even bigger fan of the Clayton Park version (especially in winter). It has a great atmosphere, excellent service and a diverse and tasty menu! Not to mention the drinks. The house wine was just ok, but it is a pub after all. The decor is modern (brand new) with lots of wood furnishings and there is lots of room to move around (not like on the main level of the downtown version). We were there on a Friday evening and there was live music, Dwight D'Eon and Adam Driscoll and they were awesome and played rock with a celtic twist (guitar, mandolin and fiddle emersed). There is a fairly big dance floor (also absent in the downtown LD) so you can cut some serious rug (or hardwood) when the bands play later on the weekends. The menu has everything from wings to nachos to salmon and haddock...something for everyone and the price is reasonable. Go and enjoy!
