We were in town for our Daughters wedding and were travelling with another couple (our son and his girlfriend). We both had king suites with a view of the bay. The room was very nice, the bed was comfortable and there was a very nice view of the water.. The suite included a full size fridge, one element stove, microwave, dishwasher and adequate plates, glasses, silverware, cookware etc.
The living room area was large enough for 3 couples to visit which was an added bonus as our room was the 'meeting place' in between the wedding and reception.
The first morning we had the complimentary breakfast, it was surprising good with a large variety including eggs, sausage and homemade fried potatoes (chunky hash browns).
The cleaning staff kept our room immaculate and all staff seemed very friendly. The only 'bump' was the lady who checked us in did not let us know you needed your room key to use the elevator and to enter the hotel after hours, or that there was a complimentary breakfast, but we figured it out. The front desk is staffed 24/7 so we had no problem getting back into the hotel, and the late night staff let us know we could use our key to enter rather than waiting for them to open the door (not that we ever waited more than a few seconds).
The only downside was the lack of parking, we were lucky to be staying over the weekend so we were able to park on the street (meter parking is not in affect on the weekends so parking is free with unlimited time)..
When we return to Halifax this will be our preferred hotel to stay.
