“Major Landmark”
5 of 5 bubbles Reviewed February 28, 2013

The Old Town Clock is one of the main guides in downtown Halifax and used as a landmark when giving tourists directions. It is absolutely beautiful and continues to chime once a day. If you are handy to the downtown core for the first time you may find yourself give a little jump as the clock sounds off at 12 noon. The Town Clock began keeping time for the garrison on October 20, 1803 and continues to sound today. It is perched on Citadel Hill and over looks Halifax harbour. Take a lunch and sit on the grounds enjoying the view of Halifax or tour the entire area. The Old Town Clock is one of those "things" that when you come back home you cherish knowing it will always be there.

This is a wonderful historic clock that has been a fixture in this city for generations gone and hopefully generations to come.

“Attractive but unreadable”
3 of 5 bubbles Reviewed November 9, 2012

Some years ago the city decided to restore the clock to its original appearance - gold hands on a blue background, instead of black on white. The clock is interesting and attractive, but you can no longer actually read the time unless you're up close. Rather obviates the point of having a city clock.

“Town Clock”
4 of 5 bubbles Reviewed August 27, 2012

The only time I've really seen this is is when I am in line for concerts at the Metro Centre. I dont think theres really much to see other then the time with this but it is kind of iconic for Halifax.
