The Old Town Clock is one of the main guides in downtown Halifax and used as a landmark when giving tourists directions. It is absolutely beautiful and continues to chime once a day. If you are handy to the downtown core for the first time you may find yourself give a little jump as the clock sounds off at 12 noon. The Town Clock began keeping time for the garrison on October 20, 1803 and continues to sound today. It is perched on Citadel Hill and over looks Halifax harbour. Take a lunch and sit on the grounds enjoying the view of Halifax or tour the entire area. The Old Town Clock is one of those "things" that when you come back home you cherish knowing it will always be there.
