The hotel at Grafton street is very well located in Halifax downtown - making it a perfect place to stay for all downtown attraction. Five minutes walk to Ferry Terminal (coonection to Dartmouth), harbourfront and many eateries in close proximity makes it an ideal place to stay. I was in for a business trip and I didnt mind indulging in some cool sightseeing thanks to for its location advantage. Hotel staff are friendly and helpful. Breakfast is so si - not much to choose - but you can so much from Residence. Rooms are spacious, clean and beds are comfortable.

Constriction work was going on during my stay - so you should not mind taking short detours near the hotel if you are on foot.

This is a very nice Residence Inn. Our room was very spacious with 2 full bedrooms/bathrooms and a huge living area. It is in a great location in the center of town. The only downside is that it is noisy because it is in the center of town.

This is a good Residence Inn, but be careful about getting a room on the back side of the hotel. Argyle Street is the drinking capital of Nova Scotia, and on a friday or saturday night, the festivities go until 3am. A room on the northeast side of this hotel virtually guarantees you will be unable to sleep....we were on the top (5th) floor, and the party sounded like it was in our room. Seriously, it is as loud as a room on Times Square or las Vegas Boulevard. At 2:30am, there is a fireworks display for the partiers!
Aside from this, the hotel is very nice. Breakfast is good (but limited), the elevators are quick, the halls are clean, the rooms are very new looking (and clean), the location is good (but the Marriott Courtyard is in a better location), the bathrooms are good....nothing bad to say. But the thing that makes this hotel really good is that the staff is WONDERFUL! The nicest, most helpful crew I have come across in quite a while. Don't hesitate to book here.

Room Tip: Don't let them put you on the Argyle Street side on a weekend!

This remains a good value for the money. The staff this time were exceptional. We were phoned before we arrived to let us know that there were not enough parking spots that evening for check in. We were going to the theatre and arrived later than expected, staff said to leave the car in front and they would watch it for us until we returned from the show. They certainly went the extra mile! Really appreciate the full kitchen and warm breakfast offerings. Location is good. Need to request a room away from the noise of the bars.

Room Tip: ask for a room away from the noise of the bars

This hotel offers comfortable rooms with kitchens and living areas to relax. They are very clean, well appointed, roomy and pleasant. The kitchens include basic needs. Daily breakfast is included with both hot and cold options. There is also a managers reception a few nights a week for a light dinner. The staff is very helpful, pleasant and friendly and will work to make your visit and side trips successful. There is a lovely rooftop patio for viewing the area or enjoying a BBQ. The parking fee was a bit steep at $19 per day plus HST and it is a small area, so larger vehicles are tougher to park. The garbage trucks are early here, before 6 am daily. Otherwise, it is well located for easy trips around the city. Generally an excellent place for longer stays.

Room Tip: Higher floors help escape the garbage truck noise as well as that of the late night pub on the corne...

Love the suites, as a frequent traveler it’s nice to have a kitchen and a full size fridge. You also get a little living room with a TV where you can relax. King size bed was comfortable and the bathroom adequate. The staff was very friendly and accommodating. Great location as you are in the middle of the bar and restaurant area, not a bad walk to the waterfront.

You are beside the "big dig" where the city is building a convention center and they are blasting! I did not hear a thing when I was in the room!

Parking is tight like most underground parking in Halifax, I have a RAM 1500 truck so let them know when booking because there are a couple of spots that are somewhat easy to get in to and parking is designated. I just cleared by 1 inch from the roof.

Room Tip: If you can get a room not beside the dig end of the Hotel, it may be little more quite. If you have...

Good location, right in downtown Halifax. Lots of restaurants and bars close by. Short walk to shopping and the waterfront.Room 133 which we stayed in was quite noisy.Just above the garage door for parking. Could hear it go up and down every 10 minutes or so. The windows face Argyle st which are very noisy until about 4am with people going to the pizza shops just down the road. Woken up around 3:30 am with people yelling, kept going for some time. Nice hot breakfast included, lots of variety and fresh fruits as well. The room was nice and a good size. Fridge, dishwasher, stove, utensils, glasses, etc

Room Tip: ask for a room on a higher floor to help with the noise
