We had a 3 night stay at the hotel and although our room was clean and the breakfasts were good, the location was a less than ideal due to the bar partying. Every night the noise (ie. motor reving, screaming, laughing, yelling) went on until well after midnight. If you are a light sleeper this is definitely not the location for you.

Room Tip: First floor rooms get a lot of the party noise and you can hear the garage door opening.

Our room was exactly as in the picutre. Very clean and cool design with the red walls.
The kitchen was fully equiped, unfortunately we stay only 2 day and we've not used it.

Breakfirst is average except on one pooint : you can do your own waffles! :-)

The hotel is really downtown, just where a lots of restaurants and pubs are. For walking travellers it is perfect place.

I would never stay here again . We tried to get in our room and found the door lock was broken. It took the staff over 40 minutes to get us in and then they had to get another lock. They gave us a basket of junk food as compensation, not enough. The pull out couch smelled horrible and the kids had a hard time sleeping in it. Kitchen sink is plugged. They certainly weren't very friendly when I nicely told them the problems. I just got an I am sorry! I came home to find an unfriendly experience. So sad

This hotel is surrounded by bars. If you drink or travel with alcoholics, or you are an insomniac, this is your place! If you think listening to drunks scream and laugh at the top of their lungs as they stumble and stagger right outside your room is great FREE entertainment, check out this place. And pack light, as on.site parking is nearly nonexistent...so plan on parking blocks away, which will keep you awake anyway wondering if the car alarm you hear off in the distance sounds familiar...

Have stayed at this Marriott several times and have never had any problems.

Very clean and staff are always very friendly and eager to help. Whenever the kids travel with me, the staff went above and beyond to make their stay pleasant.

Breakfast is pretty good though more cereal variety would be a plus.

We concur with all of the positive comments. Clean, nice staff, good breakfast, good location for sightseeing. Overall good value. BUT the noise from the pubs and restaurants on Argyle Street at night is terrible. Of a three night stay, we did not have one full night of rest. We were here mid-week and not during a festival - so we suspect the revving of motorcycles, drunken yelling, fighting and live music being pumped out to the street is a nightly ritual. Not sure if a room that does not face onto Argyle or Sackville would be better. If you are booking here, make sure to ask about a quiet room.

We were very pleased with our room for two nights. It was spotlessly clean and was very convenient to restaurants and the waterfront. We did get some noise from the street pubs, etc. on the Saturday night, but it was the night of the Pride parade. Sunday night was quiet. We had no disturbances from other rooms or within the hotel. The included breakfast was a little crowded because of tours staying at the hotel, but they had the usual excellent selection found at Marriott hotels. It was nice having the kitchen to preserve and reheat some of the leftover restaurant meals. We would definitely choose this hotel again.
