Have eaten the veggie burger with gluten free bun from Ace three times, and it has been excellent every time. Its made from veggies, lentils & rice, with pickled beets & sprouts.Gluten free bun has texture of a biscuit, and is delish. I have been with others who have tried the haddock burger, classic burger, jerk chicken burger, and pork burger. All have been very happy with their food. The fries are amazing-cooked crispy on the outside. Salad fresh and tasty. Eat in or take out. Counter ordering & pickup when ready. Located inside Gus' Pub, which is pretty old school decor wise, but kinda cool. Great service from both Ace staff and Gus' bartender. There may be a bit of wait if it ls busy, as this is not fast food, its real food that is cooked fresh, and that takes a bit of time. Great value for the price. Overall, great place for a meal! Give it a try.

I wanted to try Ace as I had heard many good things. To get started, there was a long wait for our burgers once they were ready they realized they had to cook the fires. When the food arrived it was not worth the wait, the burgers were so over cooked and burned, and they were awful. On a positive note the fries were excellent and the guy working the counter has helpful. If you are going to try Ace be sure to bring cash as this is a “cash only” restaurant, debit and credit not excepted.

I had an errand to run one day last week and needed to grab lunch in a hurry along the way. Plan A was the easier route, and Plan B, which involved Ace Burger, was a bit harder for me, but I'd never been there and had heard good things about it, so off I went. I'm very glad I did.

Ace Burger is located at the corner of North and Agricola Streets, in Gus' Pub, which is a gritty, working-class, north-end pub. When you first walk in and you look around after your eyes adjust to the darkness, you might be tempted to think you're in the wrong place for a good meal, but don't turn around and leave. Stay and place an order. You won't regret it.

The service here is mostly self-serve, though the woman working the counter was delivering fries to tables. Mostly what you do is walk to the counter, place your order, find a table, and go back to the counter when your name is called. Your burger is handed to you, wrapped in paper, no plate. Cutlery and condiments are to the side, grab what you need.

As for the food? Fantastic. I had the Classic burger with hand-cut fries and a Pop Shoppe cola. The burger was juicy and full of flavour, one of the best burgers I've ever had. Fries were perfectly done and also very good. Don't forget folks, that Ace Burger is owned by the people who brought us Brooklyn Warehouse, one of the highest-ranked restaurants in the city. Ace Burger isn't a greasy burger joint. It's very good, and well worth a visit. I'll be going back, and I'm going to work my way through the menu. Next up, the Deluxe. Can't wait.
