The weather even cooperated for us. The play and location was amazing a very good production of a lovely play. Prices were also quite reasonable. Highly recommend.

A perfect place for cheap people who refuse to open their wallet. I liked it and left a nice tip, but I must admit most people were there because they were cheap and you could tell by how they dressed.

Outdoor theatre in an old military battery/fortification.
Take bug spray - just in case
Take fluids in the day if sunny.
Take a blanket for the legs in the evening- if its cool.
Take a flashlight in the evening as its a 1/2 (?) mile walk out in the dark.

It is a good 10 minute walk to get into the site, but you are walking through beautiful Point Pleasant Park on an easy walking path. They now offer a golf cart to get patrons with walking challenges in and out of the park.

The washroom facility is a jonny-on-the-spot so you're advised to use the washroom before arriving.

It is very dark on the way out after sunset, so bring a flashlight (or a flashlight app!).

They rent camping chairs for $2 and blankets for $2 (it does get a bit chilly at night on occassion) in case you don't want to lug in your own or sit on the big blanket up front.

They do sell a small assortment of chips and candy bars but a lot of people bring their own snack.

It is an outdoor venue, so bring sunscreen and bugspray, and expect less than ideal weather at times.

Despite all these provisos, this is a must-do for any Haligonian or visitor to the region. If you are not a fan of Shakespearean theatre, see the one non-Shakespeare play they put on each season.

The Shakespeare plays may not be for all all ages, but the non-Shakespeare play is suitable for children. Keep in mind that Shakespeare's plays can be very dark and risque at times.

Payment is by donation, with a $20 suggested donation.

this is a very well loved theatre group, it is held outside in Point Pleasant Park so you can see both. Well attended and fun, the costumes are great and the kids love it.
