I went to see both Alice in Wonderland and Titus Andronicus. Both were very different pieces, yet the amazing company managed to pull them both off. I was very entertained and I highly suggest seeing what work this company produces. Alice is great for families and Titus is entertaining to adults and shakespeare fans alike. Also the shows are by donation, so if you are a poor student it is a great night of theatre that isn't so hard on your wallet.

Outdoor theatre, tongue in cheek performances. Set in Point Pleasant Park amongst the trees and fortifications. Not to be missed

Who da thunk Shakespeare, let alone Titus Adronicus could be fun? These performers did a fabulous job. The setting was at the Cambridge Battery and was perfect! As the evenings are getting chillier I would suggest dressing warmly and bringing a blanket. you can rent a chair for $2 and blankets for (I think ) $1 or bring your own blanket and sit on the ground in front of the chairs. The suggested donation is $15 but they will accept any amount. Personally I think $15 is a steal for the quality performance. I plan to see the other 2 productions in the next couple of days!

The mostly young actors in the troupe are excellent and passionate about their craft. This summer, they are producing 3 plays, two by Shakespeare (The Merry Wives of Windsor, and Titus Andronicus) and one created by the troupe themselves (Alice in Wonderland). We saw the first half of Titus Andronicus; then rain started to fall seriously, and the rest of the performance was canceled. In this case, one is given a "code word" to use which will get one into any other performance this summer, but as we were leaving the next day, that wasn't of any use. If rain is fairly certain, the productions are moved indoors; otherwise, they are outside with the potential problem we experienced. Chairs can be rented for $2 each; blankets also (not needed if one had a sweater the night I was there) and the $15 suggested donation is well spent in the service of serious theater.

Shakespeare by the Sea should be a Halifax requirement. The actors are so talented and so passionate. They put on amazing plays, in a very cool venue. Remember to bring a sweater because it gets chilly down in the park at night. Beyond worth the $15 suggested donation. I'd go back every night if I could.
