“Great for travelling in the south / Halifax region”
5 of 5 bubbles Reviewed August 13, 2013 via mobile

Stated here for five nights whilst visiting Halifax and the surrounding area. Booked it as it was close to the highway, downtown Halifax and also a large car park. We were correct about all if these points! Takes about 15/25 mins to get to Halifax depending on route / time of day. Weekend very quick! Hotel had nice mini gym although dud not get to use. We were in executive floor through booking with breakfast deal on Expedia. This was a very quiet floor. Breakfast offered a choice of continental or cooked. Our preference was continental but good to have a choice. Restaurant was large Enugu to accommodate guests having breakfast without a queue. Very clean rooms, friendly staff and good wifi access. Would stay here again.

We stayed at Future Inn Halifax 3 nights while visiting and entertaining our grandson who was attending Dalhousie University. We are from Ontario. The hotel is not right downtown, but an easy drive, for all locations. We had a nice room and a full breakfast each day was included in our package .(We booked an executive 2 queen bed room which I believe offered a nicer view and included the full breakfast ). There are restaurants nearby, which we didn't use, but they were right across the street, as well as Costco if you wanted to just pick up a pizza or snack. The room was clean, comfortable and we had no complaints. The service and cleaning staff were very pleasant. There was no pool, but that was not something we required.

We stayed at the Future Inns in Halifax from July 12-14, 2013. The service we received from the front desk staff was great, but other than that, there is nothing that stands out from any other hotel I have stayed at. The rooms seem outdated, except for the new linens. Breakfast was not included (however, there is a restaurant on site- I think they should offer a discount to guests staying). The location is excellent, even though it is not in downtown Halifax. It is just minutes away from the Bayer's Lake shopping area, and about a 5-10 minute drive to the downtown area.

We stayed at this hotel from 7/24-7/28 2013 for a business/leisure trip. The room was very clean and the housekeeping staff provided us with excellent service each day. The front desk was very helpful and the hotel is very well maintained. Our only complaint would be the wifi. It is very unreliable and very difficult to get (and stay) connected to it. I will refrain from staying at this hotel again on future visits to Halifax until I see reviews that indicate the wifi issue has been addressed and resolved. Some days I wasn't able to get on the wifi at all and the connection at best would only last for a short period of time. It made for doing any work impossible and was a major frustration. I believe there is no excuse for unreliable wifi in 2013.
The air conditioning was excellent, the windows open so you can even get some fresh air and the ammenities provided in the room (Keurig coffee maker, BathandBodyWorks toilettries, fridge, cable etc) were all great. We did not get a chance to eat at the restaurant on site but we did receive a 20% off coupon if we had chosen to do so. The hotel was very quiet and there is plenty of parking. The hotel is within easy access to Hwy 102, Bayers Lake, downtown, Halifax Shopping Center etc. If you are interested in running or walking, there is a 4km trail about 1.5Km away from the hotel and provides an excellent dirt path for running (it is also very challenging because it is very hilly at some points).

My fiancée and I sort 4 nights there's while visiting Halifax for the first time and I have to say, overall an amazing experience! The room was lovely, service was great, the restaurant and food were terrific! The location is a little out of the way from downtown (10 to 15 minute drive) but its not a bad drive.

Overall a really great hotel to stay at. I'd highly recommend it and I know we'll stay again if we make it back to Halifax.

My fiancé and I stayed here for 4 nights and haven't a bad word to say about it. The room was large with a clean and crisp neutral decor, a plethora of pillows and extra bedding, all bathroom amenities you could need and more!
As per the previous review: there is a floor lamp 2ft from the desk that could easily be moved to provide sufficient light (there are also bright overhead pot lights). Also, there is a pen in the hotels welcome binder incase that's a make or break for decision to book a certain hotel..?
All of the staff were very friendly, we would receive a smile and a friendly 'Hello' from anyone we passed.
The included breakfasts were an option of yogurt and fruit w tea, coffee or juice OR 2 eggs, w bacon or sausage w toast and home fries (same drink options); far more than most hotels I've visited and DELICIOUS!!
Would definitely come back.

Stayed here last week while visiting Halifax. Was very disappointed with what we got for the price paid. Booked an executive room which looked like a cheap room in a "60's" hotel. The WiFi reception was intermittent; there was no desk lamp; no pen in room & one bathrobe for 2 guests! We picked this hotel because of the restaurant (Redwood Grill) which was attached to it. We were certainly not disappointed with our dinner there that evening. Everything was delicious, great presentation & wonderful service. We will certainly not be staying at this hotel in the future, but will not hesitate to visit the Redwood Grill for another meal.
