Yes Ugh, that was my first reaction when Susan had told us in the van that the area grows primarily whites wines on vines that I've never heard of and they generally sweet.
Let me back up a bit, we we're met off our cruise ship by the prettiest little lady in the terminal, yeah that was Susan the owner and operator of Grape Escapes.
She has just started her company from mere passion about a year ago and it shows that it is a passion.
She was very informative about all the wines and the processes.
She took us to several wineries and each of them we're unique in there own way.
This is not Napa Valley or the South of France but I was pleasantly surprised by the quality of their wines and the friendliness of the staff (she knew personally) at each winery.
Now if you really want to wait in line for that tasting and want to herded back onto a bus well then don't go with Grape Escapes because this is a small private or semi-private and absolutely wonderful tour.
It won't be long before her company grows to where she has to hire employees so I suggest if you traveling there or live in the area then make a point of going while she is still the guide, you won't regret it.
