“An exquisite view”
Reviewed June 13, 2012

It's a great place to explore, but you have to rely on interpretive plaques to learn about the history of the fort. This is important as the history spans over 150 years. There are no on-site interpreters. Amazing view of approaches to harbour.

“A great spot to watch ships”
Reviewed June 12, 2012

Nothing too fancy here, the trails though are some of the best views of Halifax harbour and passing ships.

“A piece of untouched war history”
Reviewed May 4, 2012

A contemplative and wonderous spot to visit. You can be alone, quiet, commune with nature. Unsurpassed views of Halifax Harbor. Raw and inviting war history. Walk into the magazine stores and ammunition houses. Unfortunately the museum at the top of the hill has been closed. Take a picnic lunch and spend an afternoon or evening.

“Interesting and free!”
Reviewed March 1, 2012

Love to go here to get away from the city. It is peaceful and open to the public with great hours of operation. There is even a bus stop close by

“A Fun Afternoon”
Reviewed February 14, 2012

Go in the summer when things are open and you can read the interpretive signs. Bring a picnic if the weather is good - there are picnic tables, a cool breeze and a fun view. Short hikes are nice, and I loved the WWII lookout (wish we could have gone in there!!)
