“Great food and beer!”
5 of 5 bubbles Reviewed September 9, 2013

For pub food the Ficle Frog offers a great seafood chowder to go with typical pub food selections. The food and service were excellent on both my stops at this pub!

“Cheap breakfast”
3 of 5 bubbles Reviewed August 5, 2013 via mobile

I was staying around the corner at The Lord Nelson and I decided to go here on Sunday August 4th for the $5 breakfast. I would describe this as more if a bar than a restaurant. Their specialty seems to be pizza but they do offer cheap basic breakfast. The breakfast came with a meat (bacon, sausage or ham), toast, hash browns and eggs. The food was only fair. I would not recommend the sausage as it is very spicy. The hash browns are seasoned potatoe wedges and most likely are used a fries during the lunch And dinner meals. The atomosphere was tacky but old be okay for a place to have a beer in the evening. The best part of the experience was the very friendly waitress!! She was great! I would not recommend this lace for breakfast I would suggest going to another restaurant that spealizes in breakfast.

“quick beer”
3 of 5 bubbles Reviewed July 15, 2013

Just stopped in to have a quick beer. Staff were nice. It was in the middle of the day, so it was a pleasant atmosphere, not sure it's the kinda place I would go to on Saturday night. Execellent location.

“Location is better then the food”
3 of 5 bubbles Reviewed June 24, 2013

An ok spot. The food we had was just alright. The service was average.Typical pub food, although they did seem to specialize in pizza. We tried some of their wraps, fries (they do not deep fry food here it is all oven baked even the fries), nachoes and artichok and spinach dip. The dip tasted the best out of everything. Nothing really stood out as being great, just average. I did like the interior and with the little patio on the front, a nice breeze blew through. Good location on Spring Garden Rd. I think its a good spot to go for drinks and some appetizers.

“Give it a try”
4 of 5 bubbles Reviewed June 15, 2013

First time in Halifax, first night didn't know where to eat, walked around after leaving The Lord Nelson hotel, finally stopped at the Fickle Frog pub, husband had bacon wrapped scallops I had lasagne served with a cesaer salad, very nice, well cooked and tasty, reasonable price. Good choice of beers, Coors for me, Keith's red for husband, was given sample to choose which beer to have, helpful cheerful staff.
