Stayed two nights recently. Service very good. Concierge helpful. Rooms was redone. Beds were great. All amenities were just what you would hope for at this price range. Only disappointment was that room service was closed at 10pm, which seemed a bit early. The view from our room was of a interior courtyard that had been painted with murals to make it more attractive.

Room Tip: Ask for a room with a view of the harbor if possible.

We have spent three nights in this hotel and have one more night here. It has been a very pleasant experience for us. We have been able to park underground and walk to so many attractions over the past few days. We were within walking distance of numerous pubs and eateries - so many that it is hard to choose which one to go to. We walked down the hill to go to the Alexander Keith's Brewery tour, Halifax Waterfront, up the hill to a great Irish Pub that became our favourite spot for dinner each night. More on that later!

The rooms are very comfortable, complete with Wi Fi and fridge. The AC works perfectly and we have access to good television, when we haven't been touring around seeing the sights. The desk employees have been friendly and helpful at all times with us. The breakfast in the hotel was dear, and we were directed to a less expensive breakfast place about five blocks away.

We haven't tried the pool or fitness area but that is only because we have been busy touring around the city.

Parking is pricey at $20.00 a night, but seeing as to the location of the hotel, I certainly wouldn't want to try to find a parking spot elsewhere just to save the money! The parking garage is safe and secure.

For me, it was the perfect spot for us to spend our four nights in Halifax. NO complaints about it whatsoever!

Room Tip: There are no views of the harbour at this hotel. The downtown core of the city is quite overbuilt...

We had a great 3 night stay in this hotel.

The hotel's location is great for exploring the Halifax waterfront. Just a short 1 block walk down the hill to the boardwalk.

The single King room was very clean and spacious.

The hotel's wireless internet was impressive.

No complementary breakfast is offered.

No need to worry about finding parking as the hotel maintains its own garage. However, be prepared to spend an additional $20 each night if you need to use the garage.

Stayed here for 3 nights in June 2012 and found the hotel to be more than adequate and reasonably priced compared to other hotels in the area. Rooms were decently sized and clean and the king-sized bed was very comfortable.

The hotel is well-located. It is close to restaurants, bars and nightlife while only a short walk from the boardwalk, farmers' market, etc.

Reception was helpful in providing us with directions to Lunenburg (they printed multiple maps to ensure we wouldn't get lost) and suggested a route back to Halifax via Mahone Bay, which was a great tip as the town is beautiful.

Given the reasonable rate and convenient location, I would stay here again. Also really enjoyed going to Cabin Coffee in the morning for breakfast, which is right across the street from the hotel!

We've just checked in this afternoon for a two night stay. I was asked for a credit card and id at the desk when we checked in. After we paid and received our room keys, we were told that there was a scheduled power outage the following day, over a 7hr period. We brought our bags up to our room and chatted about how the power outage would affect our stay. We decided to check out in the morning before the power outage but were told by front desk staff that since we paid at check-in, we could not get a refund for the second night. No discount for the day without power, no use of elevators during the day (we're on the 5th floor), no flexibility with our booking etc. also, we were quoted a rate of $155 a night but it ended up being closer to 200 with all of the extra fees, taxes, 20/ day for parking etc. definitely expected more for the price and the brand.

Thank you for taking the time to share your feedback. Our Rooms Division Manager has reached out to you by email, but I would like to take the opportunity to once again apologize for the inconvenience of the power outage. There was mandatory maintenance that had to be completed on the power grid, but we do understand how this could have an effect on the enjoyment of your stay. We hope to welcome you back to the Four Points Halifax for your next visit to Halifax.

An establishment that has housekeeping staff changing the bed sheets on a rollaway in the hallway misses the mark on many levels. Odd that there a total of two bath towels, two hand towels and three wash cloths in the bathroom. The rooms are good sized, bed is fairly comfortable but unless you have Sheraton points or a compelling reason to stay here, you may want to explore other options

While Halifax is a beautiful port city, this hotel is not a reflection of it. I stayed here for business reasons and was quite disappointed. When I checked it, I was early so I completely understood that the room wasn't ready. However, the front desk did not offer to keep my bags secure until the room was ready (lucky I was traveling with a colleague who's room was ready so I dumped them there. The front desk also did not explain when/where breakfast was or any other amenities (even when I went back to complete registration). I received what they call a junior suite which meant a bedroom (which a pocket door) and a small sitting/working area. There was dirt and old candy wrappers behind the couch and there were stains on the curtains. To see the view, I had to kneel on the couch to look out the one window. (Past the Mariott Courtyard that was calling to me!). The smell in the building was off putting (a combination of "harbor", "old flood" and unsanitary. Breakfast was not free and in fact you had to walk through a mall to go upstairs to a nightclub that then turned its lights on for the breakfast service (have you ever seen a nightclub in daylight???) Had a chance to have dinner through catering and was disappointed with that as well. Beef stroganoff was salty and chewy. The concierge was helpful when I needed a cab so that was good. Biggest concern was the lack of security in the parking garage. You are given an access card to come and go into the garage if you are a guest. But it doesn't work...so most times you have to say you are a guest via intercom and they'll buzz you in. 1 out of 3 times I was asked my name to verify. The other times I was just buzzed (which means anyone can come in) and there was no hotel key lock on the door to come into building...very insecure).
I did receive a response from the manager when I expressed my dissatisfaction via their survey and was offered free parking (!) and a free upgrade of room on my next stay. Unfortunately, that does not help...since I will not be staying there again.
