Ryan took us for two days to see a bit more of Nova Scotia. We really enjoyed it. Great company, great environment and great lunch. I would highly recommend these tours.

“Bay of Fundy Tour”
Reviewed May 11, 2013

Ryan was an outstanding expert on the tour. He took us to places that in our travel throughout the world was truly amazing. This was one of the most relaxing days we have had in years. Ryan is also amazing for the following reason: My wife and I were the only two guests as the tourist season is just starting. Rather than his cancelling with us because we were the only two booked he showed up smiling at our hotel at the appointed time and took us on the full tour. He is truly an outstanding person. We can't wait to do the other two tours scheduled with him. Larry and Sarie Shainock, Fox Point, WI

“No other tour of Halifax and Peggy's Cove gives you this view!”
Reviewed May 6, 2013

Ryan, the owner, and Jesse treated us to a wonderful day of adventure and sightseeing today. We knew from the start that it would be a great day when they meet us right outside the cruise terminal with a smile. Their van was right there to wisk us off to our first stop at the Citadel, just in time for the changing of the guards. After a brief history of the city we were off to the Halifax Public Gardens. It was very early on the season to see much in bloom but the washrooms were clean and there was a nice coffee shop there. The ride to Peggy's Cove was breathtaking. Not only did Ryan and Jesse give great commentary along the way, they also treated its to a variety of folk music. A short while before we arrived at Peggy's Cove we pulled over and parked along the Barrens. This landscape it's the reason this region was called Nova Scotia, meaning New Scotland. The glaciers of long ago carved its desolate and beautiful landscape in the picture. Ryan and Jesse were a wealth of information along the relatively easy 1.3 mile hike. We were out of sight of all civilization and yet we were right around the corner from Peggy's Cove. Once at Peggy's Cove, we saw the lighthouse and walked through the shops at our leisure. When we were done, we walked down too a quiet picnic area where our lunch which was included was set for us. It was a very healthy lunch of fresh fruit, cold meat, cheeses, hummus, bread, crackers vegetables, and dip along with a cold drink. On the way back to the ship we stopped at one of the cemeteries where Titanic victims were buried. It was a wonderful trip at almost half the price of the cruise ship offerings. I spoke with several of the people who went on the Holland America excursions and they were rushed the entire time. Skip the ship and go with G.R.E.A.T. Earth Expeditions. Ryan and Jesse made our day!

If you are visiting Nova Scotia, I highly recommend Great E.A.R.T.H Expeditions. The owner, Ryan Barry, is knowledgeable of the locations and landscapes, accommodating and friendly. I took several tours with him because I was so impressed with the 1st one. Ryan feeds life into the history and geography of this breathtaking part of the country. What really makes it sensational is that Ryan enjoys what he does... you can see his dedication and feel his passion in sharing the joy and beauty of this land.
