This spot is easily accessible on a walking tour of the downtown area and a nice stroll back in time. It's well signed with historical data and a lovely spot, aesthetically, with the trees and paths. The gravestones are very old and interesting to look at, if you're into that sort of thing. It's easy just to pop in for a few minutes and look around.

It is very serene and interesting place to go and read some of the tombstones and read the history behind them.

A very nice graveyard in the city. Lots of very interesting tombstones. The number of very young people buried there (young adults as well as infants) is very sad. Good to go there and pay ones respects.

Historic cemetery located in Downtown Halifax. Final resting place for British Major General Robert Ross who led the successful Washington Raid of 1814, which burned the White House. The cemetery is located opposite the Lieutenant Governors’ Mansion.

I love old things and the Old burial ground is certainly old. There's a kind of beauty in the worn and decaying tomb stones. A great look at Halifax's history and a change to learn a little bit about the families that made Halifax.
