I was at the Lord Nelson for a 3 day conference, but slept at another Halifax hotel where i am loyalty program member. This hotel is not handicap person friendly. I had to park on the second floor of the underground garage as evidently the hotel does not get to use the entry level. There are no elevators in the garage, and so i used the garage intercom to ask how a disabled person could get up to the hotel. They would send someone for my cases (i didn't have any), but that you had to take the stairs or to walk on the car ramps up to ground level. They did not offer to valet the car so that i could avoid the stairs.
Then in the hotel, the ballroom where the meetings were held you had to go up a set of stairs with no ramp. Then, to get to the bathrooms two more sets of stairs (no ramps). The doorman saw my struggle and offered no help. Because of this I chose to only attend 1 day of a 3 day conference. The conference organization told me they were unaware of handicap unfriendly situation.
Food served for the conference breakfast and lunch was very good. I also appreciated the fast high speed wireless.More
