We were very impressed with the size of the suite; beds very comfortable and large bathroom. Our stay was for only 1 night and we wished we could have stayed longer. Staff were friendly & efficient and free wifi internet.

The down side was the 'Luxury' continental breakfast included in our stay, (we chose to have it delivered to our room) which consisted of a croissant & jam each and coffee. Didn't get the luxury part at all.......

Just a quick point, request a room with a view of the harbour when you book - their website states 'many rooms have view of the harbour' but we managed to get one overlooking wasteland.

Compared to other hotels we stayed at in NS, this was good value for money.

Stayed 2 nights at the Radisson.Found the suite to be great - lots of room, comfy bed etc. The decor was somewhat dated but this didn't really bother me.Breakfast was a disappointment - only a few round tables - the rest were long canteen type tables against a wall which meant that if you were at the end of the table ,you had to let people in and out past you or else squeeze in and out past other people.Food at breakfast was quite adequate - pity about the table set-up.

My husband and I stayed at the Radisson Suite Hotel in downtown Halifax just one night (July 31). I booked this hotel because of a corporate discount.

You can't beat the location, just steps to the Haliax waterfront. The room was spacious - more than we actually needed for our short stay, but still pretty good. Not the most modern room, but the beds and bedding was top notch. Contintental breakfast is included and everything you need to get off and running.

The only parking available is valet, so beware if you are in a rush to catch a flight (like we were!), it can take a while to get your car.

There's no shortage of amazing eateries in downtown Halifax. We tried to dine at the Hamanchi (sp?) Steakhouse, which was very highly recommended, but couldn't get in. We dined instead at Bish (at Bishop's landing, a 5 min walk away) and it was FANTASTIC!

There are many places to stay in downtown Halifax, but I would consider staying at the Radisson again.

I was and am still amazed by the architectural planning of this hotel! There were no rooms behind the elevators and a privacy panel infront of the bedroom doors opposite the elevators. We stayed on the top floor and did not hear a single sound of the city, hotel or even other rooms - including plumbing and door closings!!!!!

The layout of our suite was also beautiful and included microwave, refridgerator, water bottle, small dining table in a designated entrance alcove, bedroom and living room with separate doors into the bathroom. The bathroom was also well designed and all was clean.

Our stay here was sandwiched by bed and breakfast stays and this proved a welcome change.

By contrast the breakfast was a dissapointment and more on par with that of a hampon inn. None the less, the breakfast suited us just fine.

Service and staff was wonderful, friendly and very helpful.

Bravo!

Hubby and I stayed 3 nites - our first time in Halifax. Hotel perfect location for shopping, waterfront, restaurants, historical walks. We were very pleased with our suite - extremely well stocked, huge beds, adjustable comfort matresses, beautiful spotless linens, duvets. The hotel staff were very helpful, friendly. We found the complimentary breakfast was plentiful and healthy!! We ate here every morning as we enjoyed the cozy atmosphere as well. Beautiful city, we are already planning our next weekend getaway, early winter and will be staying at the Radisson of course. We had a wedding event at the Radisson in Ontario - top notch - guests still remark about the amazing buffet!

We arrived in Halifax with no place to stay, and stumbled across this gem. Not only is the staff extremely friendly and helpful, but the rooms offer great value. All rooms are suites and offer lots of space. On the weekend we paid $129 for a king bed suite and my parents & siblings paid $169 for a two queen suite (which included a small boardroom). There is a great continental breakfast each morning, and a computer with free internet access in the lobby. While we didn't check out the pool, other guests told us it was good.
The hotel is connected to a restaurant (Eastside Marios) and is only a couple blocks from the waterfront - so you may even get a view of the harbour from your room. It is also easy walking to other great shopping areas.

Stayed at the Radisson weekend in June for 2 nights. Beautiful new-looking suites. Had corner room facing the water. Nice microwave, fridge, sink area. Small tv in living area; larger one in bedroom. Buffet breakfast was good; breads, cereal, fruit, hard-boiled eggs. Juice and coffee. Coffee maker in the room too. Nice robes to use while there.
Pool was smallish and the Jacuzzi was not open for some reason. Valet parking (unless you want to find a parking deck somewhere) was $18.95CAD per night. BUT it is free to park on the street Saturday and Sunday so we did that Saturday night and got a spot almost in front of the hotel.
Lots of attractions very close by. Brewery, Maritime Museum, the Art museum, and the waterfront were a 2 minute walk away. Citadel up the hill. Atlantic Superstore (groceries) on Barrington about 5 blocks away. Stocked up on water and snacks.
Nice place and I’d stay there again.
What we did: Wandered around the first night and ate at a pub. Unfortunately I didn't get to some of the stores since after we ate they were closed. They close at 6 on Saturdays and most are not open on Sundays. I did not like how there were so many beggars when we came out of stores or restaurants with their cup or hat begging for money. Citadel was cool--we went up there and walked around the whole perimeter. Great views. Next day we went to Wolfville to see the mudflats and it looked like melted chocolate! Stopped at Grand Pre vineyard and their menu looked wonderful. Sampled their hard cider. Yum. Kept on to Halls Harbour and ate lobster while the tide rolled in and watched it rise up the ladder rungs pretty quickly. The beach had beautiful stones. Went to Lookers point and then continued out the hiking area on the point between Minas Basin and Bay of Fundy. You can hike through some pretty interesting terrain there but it's 5 miles or so to the point. I wasn't up for that. Subway has Lobster Roll! Pretty funny.
