We stayed there 3 nights during summer 2009, sorry that was not recently. The room was OK, and the breakfast also. But please avoid rooms that are closed to the restaurant. That's the one they gave us and it's rather noisy, because of the cooling system on the same side.
But it's a cheap place to stay if you want to enjoy your journey near Halifax and going anywhere else in Nova Scotia.

The room was simply horrible, and we weren't overly impressed by the amount of bugs in the room (earwigs and large beetle-types). The toilet wouldn't always flush, the wi-fi only gave us limited connection, which meant we couldn't use it at all. I see reviews that renos are happening at this motel, well they sure weren't happening in this room. The maid came and brought fresh towels while we were out, but didn't even bother making the bed for us. The breakfast was a joke. Cereal in containers that weren't even sealed (the cover was hanging off one), the cream cheese looked like somebody dug out of it with their fingers...there was ONE kind of jam (orange marmalade), and somehow they even managed to ruin the orange juice. It was watered down until it only had the appearance of o.j. The only positive thing about this place was that the staff were very pleasant.

Room Tip: To choose a good room, I would strongly suggest you book a different motel/hotel.

We do appreciate your feedback and we do apologize that you were unsatisfyed with you stay. Renovations are still ongoing to improve the quality our guests receive. As for the restaurant/breakfast, We have currently reopened the restaurant with new owners. We are hoping that this will be a great success with our guests.

I had had trouble getting accomodation for our group and this one was done through an agent and we had arrived late at night and were just needing to crash. Nothing special,was one of the most expensive we stayed in,breakfast options pretty mediocre really, its on a hill and we were given rooms all over the place, 12 of us. The reception staff were fabulous but at breakfast some dour guy who could not speak English and you had to ask and point for what you needed.
Could have been a beter experience for our first night in Nova Scotia. Would not use again.

I am sorry that you did not have a good experience your first night in Nova Scotia. When a customer, group or any guest is not completely happy with their room, breakfast or anything concerning their stay, encourage them to speak with the General Manager. Constructive comments are one of the best ways to improve disatisfaction. I will agree that breakfast at the time of your stay was failing, and the restaurant in turn is now out of business.

November 1st, the restaurant was taken over by new owners, completely redecorated, with an exceptionably inviting menu. I truly hope you will give us another try.
